Ever wonder why Rs can be so tricky?

Instruction of articulation for the ‘r’ sound is accomplished with a fairly new tool of ultrasound biofeedback. Several clients with persistent ‘r’ errors participate in therapy with this tool and show much success! Below is a picture of the tongue saying “rrr” as seen with the ultrasound device; the right side of the picture is the front of the mouth. Research has discovered 22 different tongue positions that can produce a clear “rrr” sound.
