What to Expect During Tixel i Treatment:
All you need to do is relax! The clinician will gently cleanse your eyelid areas and an analgesic gel will be applied prior to treatments. The disinfected handset is placed gently on your upper and lower eyelids so short pulses of heat can be applied through a matrix of superficial thermal dots to improve gland function. You’ll feel warmth and gentle pressure on your eyelids for a total of 2 minutes for both eyes. Immediately after treatment, you may experience temporary eye watering or blurry vision.
For maximum relief, most patients require 3 Tixel i treatments spaced 4 weeks apart.

Gentle Heat & Pressure to Improve Eyelid Gland Function
Tixel i® is an FDA-cleared treatment for Evaporative Dry Eye resulting from Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD). Tixel uses precisely-controlled heat to restore/improve eyelid gland function. Powered by Thermo-Mechanical Action®, this treatment consists of short pulses (6 milliseconds) of high heat applied via gentle pressure from the proprietary, self-disinfecting, Titanium-coated tip.
What sets Tixel i apart from other dry eye treatments is that it only takes 2 minutes for both eyes to be treated. Dry Eye
The prevalence of dry eye is on the rise. It is estimated that 30 million people in the USA suffer from the symptoms which can include:
• Itching
• Stinging
• Redness
• Light sensitivity
• Eye fatigue
• Blurry vision
• Watering/tearing

Not all dry eye is the same. These symptoms can be the result of excessive digital screen time for work or entertainment, often because we forget to blink. Certain eye surgeries (such as LASIK or cataract surgery), can exacerbate dry eye. However, many people have problems with their glands that cause Evaporative Dry Eye.

Evaporative Dry Eye:
Tears are necessary to help lubricate, protect and nourish our eyes. Without a steady flow of tears, eye irritation will result. In Evaporative Dry Eye, the meibomian glands can start to deteriorate or become blocked which leads to a shortage of protective oil on the surface of your eyes and quicker-than-normal evaporation of the tear layer.

How Tixel C Works
The patented titanium tip is heated with thermal energy. Then the handpiece is moved across the treatment areas, briefly contacting the skin and providing uniform coverage. For optimal results, most patients will require 3-4 treatment sessions, spaced 1 month apart.
What to Expect After Treatment
• Slightly swollen and pink skin for 3 to 4 hours
