đź’™ April 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day đź’™
As a speech-language pathologist, I have the privilege of working with autistic individuals and their families every day. Autism is a spectrum, and every person communicates, connects, and experiences the world in their own unique way.
Today is about more than awareness—it's about acceptance, understanding, and supporting all forms of communication.
Every voice matters, whether it is spoken, signed, or supported in other ways.

Happy Monday, friends!
Wishing you a wonderful week.
Remember:

• Communication looks different for everyone, and that’s okay.
• Progress may be slow, but every small step matters.
• Play is one of the best ways children learn language.
• Modeling language is more powerful than correcting.
• Celebrate effort, not just perfection.
• Every voice deserves to be heard.

The magic of red light therapy ✨️
Did you know red light therapy can help support the brain networks involved in communication and swallowing? 🧠✨

At Embrace Your Speech, we use Transcranial Photobiomodulation, which is a technique that applies specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to the scalp to gently stimulate brain networks that need the most support to allow our clients achieve their goals.

Our goal is to help the brain become more responsive and support neuroplasticity to help our clients improve their skills.

Follow us to learn more about the benefits of combining red light therapy with speech therapy.

From helping a child say their first clear words to supporting adults after a stroke or injury, speech-language pathologists work every day to empower people to communicate with confidence.

If you or someone you love has concerns about speech, language, or swallowing, you’re not alone—and help is available. Sometimes all it takes is starting the conversation.

Let’s talk about communication, connection, and the power of speech therapy.

Did you know that millions of people live with swallowing difficulties, a condition also known as dysphagia? Swallowing Awareness Day is an opportunity to raise awareness, show support, and recognize the importance of safe swallowing for health and quality of life.

Swallowing is something most of us take for granted, but for many individuals—especially older adults, stroke survivors, and those with neurological conditions—it can be a daily challenge. Early recognition and proper treatment can make a huge difference.

Today, we raise awareness, support those affected, and celebrate the professionals who help people resume safe swallowing.
Let’s work together to:
-Increase awareness of dysphagia
-Encourage early screening and treatment
-Support individuals and families living with swallowing disorders

If you or a loved one has trouble swallowing, coughing during meals, or avoiding certain foods, talk to a healthcare professional.

Help spread the word by sharing this post!

May today be a wonderful day filled with love and luck! Happy St. Patrick's Day, friends!
