Yesterday I thought I was going to witness history.
The Men's Final in the US Open Tennis Championships was going to be a historic event – I came to the court with the anticipation that Djokovic was going to win, and ultimately win a Grand Slam. Something that hasn’t been done since 1969.
The excitement in the crowd for Djokovic was palpable. Medvedev was the clear outsider. NY fans can be tough. As a lifelong New Yorker myself, having been born in the Bronx and lived in and around the area my whole life, I know what it’s like to have foreigners (i.e. the Red Sox) come visit your home turf. Fortunately Medvedev’s stoic Russian personality was able to rise above the noise and pull off one of the greatest upsets in history.
Resisting the crowd, sticking to a goal, moving people to think in a new direction is never easy. Inherently people are resistant to change. That’s why innovators are often marginalized in society, similar to what Medvedev faced.
Tomorrow night I have the unique honor of hosting a Facebook Live event with my friend and colleague Dr. Tim Yu (https://www.instagram.com/thestrongeryu_njsw/)
An exceptional physical therapist, Dr. Tim, myself, and our team at NJ Spine and Wellness have been incorporating the use of regional anesthesia in spine surgery to help our patients . As part of our protocol our team has been dedicated to helping our patients start their recovery process quicker and achieve higher function and performance after .
I hope that you can join us tomorrow night at 7:30 pm for a great discussion.
Please share and reshare with your friends. While this won’t be a history making event we are sure that it will be helpful.
