🌟 Sacramento Veteran Su***de Prevention Coalition: Courage to Connect Lunch and Learn 🌟

We had an inspiring time at our recent Courage to Connect Lunch and Learn event, where we focused on VA S.A.V.E. Training and community support services.

This event aimed to empower Veterans, caregivers, and loved ones with the skills and knowledge to recognize and respond to Veterans in crisis.

The VA S.A.V.E. Training provided a comprehensive overview of psychological first aid and su***de prevention, teaching the important steps of S.A.V.E.:

Signs of suicidal thinking
Ask the question
Validate the Veteran's experience
Encourage treatment and Expedite getting help

Participants learned to identify myths about su***de, recognize warning signs, effectively communicate with someone who may be suicidal, and guide them to appropriate treatment and support.

A heartfelt thank you to the Wounded Warrior Project for providing a delicious lunch, enhancing our community spirit. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our Veterans.
