An essential part of equine care is to ensure the saddle you use is fitting your horse properly. Just having your horse fitted prior to purchase is not enough. The stuffing will wear over the age of the saddle, and your horse's frame can change, even if only slightly, over time. All of this will affect the fit of the saddle, and your horse's comfort level. If they're uncomfortable, they will use their frames differently, and that can cause them further pain or even injury. This article has some helpful hints. Of course, periodic saddle fittings with a professional fitter are also key.

On a quest for the perfect saddle and the best fit? Here are a few words of advice from veterinarians.
