Would you like to scroll through memories while visiting the grave of someone you love?
Would you like to leave a message or share a photo while you’re there?
With MonuMark, families can do just that.
Every monument and marker purchased from us includes a MonuMark QR code. When scanned with a phone, it opens a memorial website where family and friends can share photos, stories, and messages—creating a place for memories to live on.
We’ve even taken care of the activation for you (a $79 value).
You may have seen companies advertising QR codes that you attach yourself, but when you purchase a memorial from us, your code is already included and activated.
It’s just a $2.99 one-time fee if you choose to keep the page active.
It’s one more way we help families create a lasting tribute and keep memories close.

As Women’s History Month comes to a close, we want to recognize and thank the incredible women of PMG, Patten Monument Group.
From administration and design to management, manufacturing, and family service, their dedication, skill, and care help shape the work we do every day. In an industry that has historically been male-dominated, we are proud of the many women who play such important roles across our company.
We also know it takes every member of our team. Our work is strongest when everyone contributes their talents and we move forward together.
We are grateful to the women who paved the way—and proud of the remarkable women of PMG who continue that legacy today.

In honor of Women’s History Month, PMG, Patten Monument Group, is proud to recognize two remarkable members of our team—Samantha Chidester and Jill Simms.

Both Sam and Jill earned the distinction of Certified Design Specialist through the Monument Builders of North America. This achievement required six months of intensive study under industry expert Jeff Anderson, where they developed advanced skills in drafting, scale, composition, and the thoughtful design of memorials.

Designing a memorial is both an art and a responsibility. It requires the ability to translate a life story into lasting form, balancing beauty, meaning, and craftsmanship. This certification represents a deep commitment to that work, and we are incredibly proud of their accomplishment.

Both women bring extraordinary dedication to their roles every day. Samantha serves families while also supporting multiple PMG locations—splitting her time between Superior Monument, Patten Monument, and Great Lakes Granite Works, where she also plays an important role in purchasing.

Jill leads Holland Quality Monument, where she works closely with families and guides memorial design with care, creativity, and experience.

Their talent, hard work, and commitment to meaningful memorialization strengthen not only PMG, but the families and communities we serve. We are proud to celebrate their achievement and grateful for the many ways they contribute every day.

We are proud to be part of the Patten Monument Group where team work is essential in creating lasting beautiful monuments everyday!

In honor of Women’s History Month, we are proud to recognize Cristine Bouwkamp and the meaningful impact she continues to make at PMG, Patten Monument Group, and within the memorialization profession.

Cristine has built a lifelong career in the monument industry—one rooted in compassion, craftsmanship, and purpose. As a Certified Memorialist through the Monument Builders of North America, she brings both expertise and heart to her work. She currently serves as President of the Women’s Division and chairs the national publication, MB News, helping shape and elevate the industry on a national level.

She is also a respected speaker and writer, sharing her passion and insight with cemetery professionals, genealogical groups, and historical societies. Cristine truly loves the art of memorialization and believes deeply that every life deserves to be remembered in a meaningful and lasting way.

At PMG, Cristine serves as a Memorial Consultant, educator, business developer, and Director of Marketing—supporting locations across Michigan and Indiana. For 26 years, she has been a dedicated presence at our Superior Monument location—guiding families with care, supporting her team, and helping others grow.

We are grateful for her leadership, her voice, and the way she continues to honor lives and stories every day. 🤍

If you live in West Michigan and are looking for something fun to do this weekend, come check out the 50th Annual Kalamazoo Living History Show! The event will take place at the Kalamazoo County Expo Center on March 21-22, and HSM’s very own Bob Myers will be there in period dress to regale you with stories of Michigan’s past.

The Kalamazoo Living History Show was created in 1976 to bring history alive and, over the years, has grown to be the largest juried event of its kind in the Midwest devoted to pre-1890 original or reproduction living history supplies and related crafts. Each year the focus of the show changes allowing various historical re-enactment groups, organizations and individuals the opportunity to host the show and share their knowledge and enthusiasm of history with all of us. More than 10,000 historical re-enactors, history enthusiasts, collectors, and general public are expected to attend this exciting 50th anniversary of the event!

Single-day admission is $9 and a weekend pass is $13, but please note that the venue is CASH ONLY. Children 12 years of age and under are admitted free when accompanied by a parent. Learn more about the event at https://www.kalamazooshow.com/

✨ Care & Compassion Spotlight — March ✨
This month, we are honored to highlight The Riley Katheryn Foundation as our Care & Compassion Spotlight organization. The Riley Katheryn Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness of stillbirth and infant death and providing financial support for funeral and burial expenses to families in Michigan who have experienced the unimaginable loss of a baby under one year old.

March is Infant Loss Awareness Month, a time to recognize and support families navigating grief and heartbreak after the loss of an infant. The Riley Katheryn Foundation offers comfort and tangible help to families during these painful moments, easing some of the burdens so families can focus on remembering their children with love.

We are grateful for the compassionate work this organization does in our community and beyond — reflecting the same care and respect for life that guides us every day. 🤍
