Today we celebrate an incredible milestone — the retirement of Dr. Scott Goodman! 🎉🦷

In 1986, Dr. Scott founded our oldest practice, Pediatric Dentistry of Matthews, laying the foundation for what would grow into three thriving pediatric offices serving families across our community. His vision, leadership, and dedication helped shape not only our practices, but the standard of pediatric dental care in our area.

Beyond our walls, Dr. Goodman has made a lasting impact nationwide. Through his work on the Examination Committee of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, as well as his consulting and involvement in numerous pediatric dental academies and societies, he has influenced the profession and mentored countless colleagues across the country.

But most importantly, Dr. Scott has touched the lives of generations of children and families with his kindness, integrity, and commitment to excellence. His legacy will continue to shine through every smile we care for.

It’s Black History Month and Children’s Dental Health Month—a perfect time to celebrate healthy smiles and powerful history. One groundbreaker we love is Dr. Robert Tanner Freeman, the first African-American dentist. After breaking barriers and graduating from Harvard Dental School in 1869, he dedicated his career to helping underserved communities get the dental care they deserved.

Big history. Bright smiles. A legacy that still makes us smile today!
