🧠 National Drug & Alcohol Facts Week

πŸ’ MYTH: β€œI can’t get addicted to marijuana.”
βœ… FACT: Regular use can lead to dependence, and high-potency THC products are linked to increased anxiety, paranoia, and psychosis in some individuals.

Facts matter. Education reduces stigma. Recovery is possible.

National Drug & Alcohol Facts Week
March 16th – 22nd

The Cumberland County ROSC Council is recognizing National Drug & Alcohol Facts Week by sharing a Myth vs. Fact each day to help educate, reduce stigma, and promote prevention.

There is a lot of misinformation surrounding substance use and behavioral health. Education is one of the most powerful tools we have to support prevention, early intervention, and recovery.

πŸ‘‰ Follow our page this week to learn something new each day!

Does your school, organization, church, or agency recognize this annual awareness event? Drop a comment below and tell us how your community is participating β€” we’d love to highlight your efforts!

Together, we can strengthen prevention and support recovery in Cumberland County. πŸ’š

πŸ’œ Celebrating Persistence and Dedication in Recovery Support! πŸ’œ

The Cumberland County ROSC Council would like to recognize our very own Recovery Navigator, Kyle Houser, for receiving an Incentive Award in recognition of his persistence and dedication to serving individuals in our community.

For the past three years, Kyle has worked tirelessly to build partnerships and open doors to better support justice-involved individuals. Because of his commitment and perseverance, he has finally been able to begin meeting with inmates inside the Cumberland County Jail, connecting them with recovery support and resources.

This is a huge step forward in ensuring that individuals have hope, support, and a pathway to recovery as they transition back into the community.

Kyle’s dedication is a powerful reminder that persistence matters and recovery support changes lives. We are proud to have him as part of the Cumberland County ROSC Council team!

πŸ‘ Please join us in congratulating Kyle!

Last night’s Recovery Housing Panel was a great success!

We were honored to have an all-star lineup of panelists who shared their knowledge, professional insight, and lived experience with our community. Their perspectives helped highlight the important role recovery housing can play in supporting long-term recovery and strengthening our community.

We were also grateful to see such a diverse group of stakeholders in attendance, including Health Department staff, law enforcement, a school board member, the Dispatch Coordinator, People with Lived Experience (PLEs), and community members who are passionate about supporting recovery housing in Cumberland County.

Thank you to everyone who attended, asked thoughtful questions, and contributed to such an important conversation. Together, we are building a stronger recovery community.
