My journey along the path of healing arts became years ago when I was a teenager. My Grandfather and father introduced me to the concept of Reiki. I must say that I was intrigued in a bit skeptical, as I knew little about the laws of energy and quantum physics. So I research and reflected on the possibility, fueled by the desire to help ease the chronic pain and suffering that my mother was experi
ence as a result of a stroke. I am also an employee at Upstate Medical University where I also practice my Reiki on patients that are hospitalized due to surgery and cancer. On weekends I volunteer my time at Sunshine Horses, which is an organization that rescues horses. I will perform Reiki on them to help with their anxiety, pain and trust issues. In my spare time I enjoy making jewelry which consists of chakra bracelets in Tree of Life bracelets and sketching portraits. I completed my Master level of Reiki training from Reiki Master/Teacher Lenore Vaccarello, following the Transitional Usui Reiki established by Dr. Mikao Usui. It is apparent that there is a great deal in our society for spiritual physical healing and I believe that the practice of Reiki speaks directly to these needs. Annette Baker
