🎄 Holiday Tips for Well-Behaved Pets 🎄

The holiday season can be just as overwhelming for our pets as it is for us. Here are a few simple ways to help keep them calm, comfortable, and on their best behavior:

🐾 Stick to Their Routine
Pets thrive on consistency. Try to keep feeding, walking, and playtime schedules as close to normal as possible. If you’re heading out to holiday events, give your dog an extra walk or some extra attention beforehand so they’re more relaxed while you’re gone.

🎁 Know Their Limits
The holidays are not the ideal time to retrain pets who struggle with fear, aggression, or separation anxiety. There’s simply too much going on. Instead, focus on avoiding stressful situations and keeping them safe and comfortable.

✨ Set a New Year’s Goal
If your pet has behavior challenges, make it a New Year’s Resolution to seek guidance after the festivities. With the right support and training, these issues can improve—just save it for a calmer time of year.

Wishing you and your furry family members a peaceful, happy holiday season! ❤️🐶🐱

🎉 Holiday Parties & Your Pet: Keeping Everyone Safe & Stress-Free 🎉

Holiday gatherings are fun for us—but they can be overwhelming for our pets. Here are some simple ways to make sure your celebrations stay joyful for *everyone* in the house:

🐾 Create a Safe Space
If you’re hosting, consider boarding your pet for the day or setting up a quiet, secure room away from the action. Use a crate or pen only if they’re already comfortable with it. Add a “Do Not Enter” sign (or even lock the door) to keep curious guests and children out. Even the friendliest pets can become scared or defensive around strangers.

🍽️ Keep Party Food Out of Paw’s Reach
If your pet isn’t supervised, serve snacks on elevated surfaces, watch for dropped food, and keep the trash can tightly closed. Holiday GI upsets are one of the most common reasons pets visit the vet this time of year!

✈️ Traveling for the Holidays?
For cats and pocket pets, ask a trusted friend, neighbor, or family member to care for them at home in a pet-proofed room or familiar enclosure. Dogs can stay with a pet sitter, at a trusted boarding facility, or even enjoy a luxury suite at your veterinary hospital.

Keeping your pets safe during the festivities means everyone can enjoy a happier, healthier holiday season! 🐶🐱💛

🎄🐶🐱 Safe Pet Toys This Christmas🐾✨

Toy shopping for your pets this holiday? Awesome! Let’s make sure it’s safe and fun for everyone. 🎁
Here’s our guide to what to give and what to avoid when picking pet toys:

✅ Recommended Toy Types:
• Durable rubber chew toys made for dogs (look for veterinary or pet-industry tested)
• Plush toys with minimal fabric “extras” for supervised play in dogs or cats
• Interactive puzzle toys that reward pets with treats — great for mental enrichment
• Cat toys made for cats: soft wand toys, safe materials, no small break-off parts
• Toys sized appropriately — not too small for bigger pets, not too heavy for little ones

⛔ Toys to Avoid:
• Toys with small detachable parts, plastic eyes/buttons that could be chewed off and swallowed
• Rope toys that can unravel and lead to ingestion of threads (especially with dogs who love to chew)
• Holiday novelty items like decorative ribbons, tinsel, small ornaments — fun for humans, risky for pets
• Rawhide or unknown-origin chews that may split or harbor bacteria — make sure chew items are vet-approved
• Dog toys for cats or vice-versa without size/material consideration — “one size fits all” rarely works

Tips for a Safe Holiday Play-Time:
• Always supervise new toys at first and remove if they start to break or fray
• Check toy labels for appropriate size, durability, and safe materials
• Rotate toys—pets enjoy novelty, and it helps you spot wear early
• Store small pieces or broken toys out of reach to prevent accidental ingestion

Let’s make this season full of joy, safe play, and wagging tails. 🎁🐾
If you want recommendations for specific toy brands or sizes for your pet, we’re happy to help!
