Deep does NOT mean release.
Let me say that again â deep does not mean release.
If youâre someone who wants all the pressure and all the pain during your massage because you believe thatâs the only way muscles release⌠this is for you.
You canât always beat a muscle into submission.
Trust me â Iâve tried đ
Sometimes, muscles release faster when I lighten my pressure and give the body time to respond. Muscle tension is closely tied to your nervous system. If youâre clenching your jaw, holding your breath, or bracing through pain, your body is in protection mode â and those muscles will fight back.
More pain does not equal more release.
In many cases, lighter pressure calms the nervous system, allowing muscles to relax more deeply and more quickly.
And sometimes a âtightâ muscle isnât the problem at all â itâs tight because another muscle isnât doing its job. Thatâs why order matters. Releasing the right muscle first can change everything.
So if you want your knots to actually let go and stay gone, itâs not about going deeper and deeperâŚ
Itâs about the right pressure, the right order, and listening to the body.
