Meet Jordan Lutz, one of the incredible professionals behind the care we provide every day at Partners in Home Care!
Q: Jordan would you mind telling us about your professional background?
A: My name is Jordan Lutz and I am and Occupational Therapist, as well as a Certified
Lymphedema Therapist (Jordan Lutz OTR/CLT). My high school education was completed at St. Francis De Sales, undergraduate was completed at The University of Toledo, and graduate school was completed at Brenau University with my MLD/CLT training completed in Troy, Michigan with Klose Training. I graduated from graduate school and began working as an OT in
February 2018 and completed my MLD/CLT certification in November 2021.
Q: What qualifies you as a lymphedema specialist?
A: My interest in lymphedema care began when individuals with lymphedema were running
into difficult times with their management and noticing how much it affects their everyday lives.
The typical treatment begins with a quick and efficient reduction of swelling and discovering the
most efficient technique to maintain decreased swelling utilizing various garments. Once these
garments are identified, it is important to have individuals with lymphedema to continue
therapeutic exercises and to elevate the affected extremities.
Q: What positive affects have your treatments produced?
A: Patients typically see improvement relatively quickly once treatment is initiated and most
clients are pleased with results. Individuals will usually see an ease with community access due
to increased ease with functional mobility, as well as increased independence with self-cares
such as dressing and bathing tasks. With these improvements in daily activities, increased
motivation and determination are noted resulting in an increased quality of life.
