We just wrapped up 🎁 one of our most favorite programs of the year, our annual holiday adopt-a-family program! This year, with the help of our amazing donors, we were able to bring a little Christmas joy to 15 families!

We would also like to send a very special thank you to our dear friends at Project Linus Toledo/Lucas Co for once again donating hand-made blankets to every child in our program this year.

We're less than one week away from our Findlay Christmas party, but it's not too late to join!

We'll be ringing in the holiday season this Sunday, December 21st from 4:30 to 6pm at the Blanchard Valley Center. Families will enjoy dinner, crafts and a visit with Santa! We do ask that families bring a small $5-$10 gift for their children in attendance.

Just two hours remain of Giving Tuesday and we have one final family testimony to share with you.

“DSAGT welcomed us into a community of parents with deeply relatable experiences and provided our family with valuable resources, such as opportunities for our child to participate in fun activities with other children his age, events where we connected with other families, and information about a variety of supports available. What truly sets the organization apart, though, is its people: incredibly kind, welcoming, and resourceful individuals who show up not only with information, but with compassion, lived wisdom, and a commitment to support and create a sense of belonging”

Your support of DSAGT allows us to be there for families when they need us. Connecting them with accurate information on Down syndrome and a community of families all on a shared and sacred journey.

"The Down Syndrome Association of Greater Toledo has been a great community to be apart of; between the other members of the group and the staff members we couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming family. We thoroughly enjoyed the new parent breakfast to meet all the other new parents and to be introduced to the DSAGT, the Buddy Walk where we got to join in helping the DGAGT while also seeing and meeting all the other families, and the Musical Mini’s where Bodhi gets to spend quality time with other children in a fun and educational setting. We look forward to watching Bodhi grow up with all his friends in the DSAGT as we grow as parents with the DSAGT as well.” -The VanBargs

The Down Syndrome Association of Greater Toledo has meant so much to our family. As a mom, it’s been huge for me because I finally have a place where I can ask the hard questions—the ones I say in my mind but am afraid to speak out loud—without feeling pitied or judged. They get it. Their programs and resources support not only me, but my husband and our whole family, helping us learn, get involved, and truly understand how we are the lucky few. Lainey is such a blessing in our lives, and DSAGT has supported us with unconditional compassion and understanding. We look forward to being part of this new community—this new family—and we can’t wait to see what our kids teach us next.” - Jennifer Hipp

“Getting connected with The Down Syndrome Association of Greater Toledo has been one of the most positive and uplifting experiences. We have been welcomed in with open arms since before our daughter was even born. Everything is overwhelming in the beginning and it was nice knowing that when we were ready to reach out we had a whole team of people to turn to. We are so grateful to be included in The Lucky Few and look forward to the future and meeting new families.” -Taylor

“Connecting with DSAGT initially came with a lot of emotion. At the time, we had just found out about our daughter’s prenatal Down syndrome diagnosis. It took me a couple weeks before I could bring myself to reach out but looking back, it was one of the best things I could have done. The DSAGT and the community that subsequently comes with it has been critical to our family’s transition into The Lucky Few. We received resources, welcome gifts, and above all else we received the love and support from other families that had walked the path before us. As I reflect, our connection to the DSAGT has had a large impact on how we processed things and continues to be integral in how we continue to get support.” - Bree Wilson

This Giving Tuesday, you can help support families, just like the Wilsons, who have been a part of our DSAGT community over the past year and have taken part in our New Parent Support Programming.
