📱 Did you know you can screen your child for autism in under 5 minutes — for free?

Autism Speaks offers the M-CHAT-R — the Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers — directly on their website. It's the same tool recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics at every 18 and 24-month well visit.

Here's what you need to know:

🔹 20 simple yes/no questions
🔹 Takes less than 5 minutes
🔹 Designed for toddlers ages 16–30 months
🔹 A positive result is NOT a diagnosis — it's a next step
🔹 100% free

If you've had a feeling something might be different about your child's development — this is the place to start. Trust that instinct. A screening costs nothing. Waiting costs time.

🔗 Take the free screener: autismspeaks.org/screen-your-child

And if the results indicate your child may benefit from a full evaluation — On Target ABA offers on-site autism evaluations in Ohio and Utah. Reach out to us directly. 💙

📌 Save this. Share it with every parent of a toddler in your life.

⏰ The earlier you catch it, the more you can do about it.

Early autism screening can change everything for your child — and most families don't realize how soon it can happen.

✅ Autism can be reliably detected as early as 18 months
✅ The average diagnosis age is still 5 years old — years of support missed
✅ Early intervention (ages 2–3) produces the strongest outcomes
✅ A screening is not the same as a diagnosis — it's just a first step

If you've noticed something — trust that feeling. A delay in speech. Less eye contact than other kids the same age. Repetitive behaviors. Difficulty with transitions.

Those observations matter. And acting on them sooner rather than later is one of the most powerful things you can do for your child's future. 💙

At On Target ABA, we offer on-site autism evaluations. You don't have to wait for a long referral chain — reach out to us directly.

📌 Save this. Share it with a parent who has a gut feeling they haven't acted on yet.

🚫 Myth: Stimming is a problem behavior that needs to be stopped.

✅ Truth: Stimming is regulation.

When your child flaps their hands, rocks back and forth, or spins — they are not misbehaving. They are managing their nervous system. They are coping. They are telling you something without words.

Suppressing stimming doesn't make the need go away. It just takes away the tool your child was using to meet it.

The goal of quality ABA therapy is never to eliminate stimming. It's to understand what your child needs — and make sure those needs get met. 💙

📌 Save this. Share it with someone who needs to hear it.

📊 Autism Speaks just released their 2025 Autism by the Numbers Annual Report — and the data is something every family and professional needs to see.

Here are the numbers that matter most:

🔢 1 in 31 children in the US are now diagnosed with autism — up from 1 in 36
🔢 Autism prevalence has increased nearly 5x since 2000
🔢 The average age of diagnosis is still 5 years old — when early intervention works best at ages 2-3
🔢 80% of people with autism rely on family support
🔢 High rates of anxiety, ADHD, and other co-occurring conditions remain unaddressed
🔢 Employment gaps for autistic adults remain significant

Every data point represents a real child. A real family. A real story.

At On Target ABA, this is why we show up every day. The need is growing. The urgency is real. And early intervention — starting as young as possible — is still the single most evidence-based response we have. 💙

🎯 Did you know that the ratio of RBTs to children in ABA therapy matters MORE than most families realize?

Here’s why it’s one of the most important questions you can ask any ABA provider:

✅ 1-on-1 attention during every session
✅ Goals are targeted consistently, not shared across multiple kids
✅ Your child’s RBT knows THEM — their motivators, their triggers, their wins
✅ Data collected is specific to YOUR child
✅ The therapeutic relationship is deep and genuine

Why does this matter? Because ABA therapy only works when it’s truly individualized. A child who is one of many in a group session is not getting the same quality of intervention as a child with their own dedicated therapist.

At On Target ABA, we don’t believe in shortcuts when it comes to your child’s progress. Every child deserves a therapist who shows up for THEM. 💙

👁️ Autism & eye contact — let's talk about it.

❌ MYTH: No eye contact = not paying attention.
✅ TRUTH: Many children with autism process information BETTER without it.

Forcing eye contact can:
🔴 Increase anxiety
🔴 Reduce processing ability
🔴 Damage trust

Eye contact is ONE form of connection.
Not the only one. Not the most important one. 💙

At On Target ABA, we build joint attention and natural connection — always at your child's pace.

🌿 Have you heard of Natural Environment Teaching?

It's one of the most powerful — and most misunderstood — approaches in ABA therapy. And chances are, your child has already experienced it.

📚 WHAT IS NET?
Natural Environment Teaching (NET) is an evidence-based ABA method where learning happens IN your child's everyday world — not just at a table.

Instead of flashcards and drills, skills are taught through:
🎮 Play & favorite toys
🍎 Snack time & mealtimes
🛁 Bath time & daily routines
🏡 Home, school & community settings
🎨 Art, music & sensory activities

🎯 WHY IT WORKS:
✅ Skills are learned WHERE they'll actually be used
✅ Children are motivated because it's built around their interests
✅ Less frustration — fewer tantrums & more engagement
✅ Skills generalize faster to real life
✅ Learning feels natural — kids often don't even know it's happening!

Here's the magic: a child who loves cars isn't just playing with cars. They're learning colors, counting, requesting, turn-taking, and language — all at once, through something they already love. 🚗

"It isn't enough to memorize answers if the knowledge doesn't functionally apply to their everyday environment." — That's the heart of NET.

At On Target ABA, NET is woven into every session — because when a child is engaged and motivated, THAT'S when real learning happens. 💙

🎉 The best ABA therapy doesn’t feel like therapy.

It feels like play. 🎮

Bubbles. Building blocks. Pretend play. Sensory bins. Games. Laughter.

Every activity is intentional.
Every laugh is a connection.
Every win is real. 💙

This is what we do at On Target ABA — and our kiddos show up every day excited to be here. 🌟
