Gabe likes to visit a variety of places and on this occasion wanted to visit Red Lobster and had a chuckle knowing his staff doesn’t eat seafood. Erika laughed along and had a burger. Choices of where to go and what to do when with staff are based on individual choice not on staff preference. Erika as well as all the staff at Direction understand the importance of these choices and encourage individuals to make decisions that enrich their lives.

Jenna went out with staff, Erika to pick out some items from the store. She did a great job choosing her preferred items independently.

When it comes to food a DSP can assist with a variety of aspects including budgeting for purchases, organizational list making, meal prepping/cooking skills, nutritional understanding and more!

Matthew had to “test out” some of his Christmas gifts seeing how they compared to other engaging toys he has and choosing what to use and show off this day!

Hunter received an immersion blender for Christmas and was so excited to learn how to use it. We’ve seen Hunter find more and more joy out of cooking over the years and are so happy to see his growth of skills and enjoyment.

Code Blue is a weather alert issued during extreme cold (temperatures expected to drop below 20 degrees), triggering a plan to help vulnerable populations, especially the homeless. Emergency shelter can be found at the following locations:

While on work assessment Troy learned how to stock, rotate products and face shelves. He learned quickly that not all products will be in the right spot as sometimes items are moved or left if someone decides not to make the purchase. Good job Troy!
