Sulcus Sign Test – What Does It Mean?

Noticed a small “dip” under the shoulder when the arm is gently pulled downward? That’s called the Sulcus Sign, and it can indicate shoulder instability.

This test helps physical therapists determine if the glenohumeral joint has excessive laxity or looseness, which may lead to:
• Shoulder pain
• Recurrent dislocations
• Weakness with overhead movements
• Difficulty with lifting or sports

At Town Physical Therapy, our team evaluates shoulder stability and builds a personalized rehab program to restore strength, control, and confidence in your movement.

If your shoulder feels loose, painful, or unstable — it may be time for an evaluation.

✔️ Improving mobility
✔️ Strengthening your core and back
✔️ Preventing the problem from coming back

Don’t ignore the pain and hope it goes away. The right treatment can get you moving better and feeling stronger.

Physical Therapists vs PT Aides

👨‍⚕️ PT: “We’re going to correct your biomechanics, stabilize the joint, and improve neuromuscular control.”

💪 PT Aide:
“Alright… give me 10 more squats. Don’t stop.”

Same goal.
Different delivery. 😂

Your feet are the foundation of how your body moves. Understanding pronation and supination can help prevent injuries and improve performance.

Pronation happens when the foot rolls slightly inward during walking or running. This movement helps absorb shock and distribute weight properly.

Supination is the opposite — when the foot rolls outward. Too much supination can reduce shock absorption and place extra stress on the ankle, knee, and hip.

When either movement becomes excessive, it can lead to issues like:
• Plantar fasciitis
• Shin splints
• Knee pain
• Ankle instability
• Hip or lower back discomfort

At Town Physical Therapy, our team evaluates your gait, foot mechanics, and movement patterns to identify imbalances and correct them with targeted treatment and strengthening.

If you’re experiencing foot, ankle, or knee pain — your mechanics may be the reason.

📞 Schedule an evaluation and get back to moving pain-free.

Relieve Shoulder Pain & Restore Movement

At Town Physical Therapy, we use advanced shoulder mobilization techniques to help restore proper joint motion, reduce pain, and improve your ability to move your arm freely again.

Shoulder mobilization is a hands-on treatment where our physical therapists apply precise, controlled movements to the shoulder joint to improve mobility and reduce stiffness. These techniques help the joint glide more naturally and restore range of motion.

This treatment is commonly used for:

• Rotator cuff injuries
• Frozen shoulder
• Shoulder impingement
• Post-surgical stiffness
• Limited overhead movement
• Sports injuries

Our goal is simple:
Get you moving better, faster, and without pain.

If shoulder pain is limiting your workouts, sleep, or daily activities — our team can help you get back to full function.
