Spring cleaning… but make it senior-friendly. 🧹

A few small changes can make a big difference:
✔ Clear walkways
✔ Secure loose rugs
✔ Improve lighting
✔ Keep everyday items within reach

Safety supports independence — and spring is a great time to refresh both. 💙

Things you only understand after helping a parent:

• Why the thermostat is sacred.
• Why every container is “still good.”
• Why you now own 14 reusable grocery bags.

Caregiving comes with perspective… and stories. 😄

Care is a team sport. 💙

Families, caregivers, neighbors, and community partners all play a role in helping seniors stay supported and connected.

It truly takes a village — and we’re grateful to serve alongside so many who care about our local seniors.

April is National Humor Month 😊

Laughter does more than lighten the mood — it can help reduce stress, strengthen relationships, and build trust.

In caregiving, those shared smiles and small jokes often make routines feel easier and days feel brighter. 💙

Sometimes the simplest moments have the biggest impact.

This blog explains what families should know and how to approach the conversation with compassion (and a plan).

March is National Quilting Month 🧵💙

If you have a quilt made by a parent, grandparent, or loved one, we’d love to see it.

Share a photo in the comments and tell us the story behind it (even if it’s “they made it while watching their favorite show,” which honestly sounds perfect). 😄

Sometimes the biggest safety clue isn’t something you see... it’s something you hear.

A small comment like “I’ve been more tired lately” or “I don’t feel steady” can be an early sign that support needs to change.

Listening helps families catch things early and respond sooner.

Someone once said if you take care of someone with dementia you lose them more and more everyday. When they get the diagnosis, when they go through different stages, when they need treatment and when they pass away. This is called "ambigous loss".
There will be people who will scroll past this post because Dementia has not touched them. They may not know what it's like to have a loved one who has battled or is still battling dementia.
To raise awareness of this cruel disease, I would like my friends to put this on their page today.
Hold your finger on the post to copy and paste to your timeline.
A special thank you to anyone willing to put this on their timeline for Alzheimer Awareness Week!
