April is Stress Awareness Month, which ties perfectly into Chiropractic care!
Stress can cause tension, headaches, and poor posture.
Chiropractic adjustments help reduce tension and improve nervous system function. Stress is more than just mental its neurological. Stress manifests physically, chemically, and emotionally in your spine and nervous system. We call this the 3Ts of stress: Trauma, Toxins, and Thoughts. Research has shown that environmental toxins can disrupt the autonomic nervous system, increasing inflammation and reducing the body’s capacity to adapt. Thoughts can physically manifest in the body through muscle guarding, increased cortisol, shallow breathing, and even immune suppression. Physical trauma( such as car or sporting injury) is a leading contributor to spinal dysfunction. These injuries or movement imbalances can cause joint restriction, soft tissue tension, and disruption of nervous system flow.
