We are now operating under our green alert status which means we are only operating at our normal watch status. Remember, we only observe and notify. We do this to help ensure our community is watching out for each other.

The McConnells Community Watch is currently under a Red Alert! There is an unusually high suspicion of something that could possibly happen in our community and our patrol staff, intelligence specialist, and admin are prepared to observe and notify.

You may see an increased presence of our patrol lieutenant in the coming weeks. Due to staffing shortfalls it was imperative that we reinstate him immediately.

Tonight at approximately 8:15 p.m. we received several complaints about the reckless driving of one of our patrolmen. After brief investigation these complaints were found to be valid. The patrolman in question has been placed on administrative leave without pay until a complete and thorough investigation of this incident and prior incidents has been conducted.

The roads in the McConnells area continue to accumulate ice and precipitation. Avoid driving if you can. No news on any power outages at this point.

We have been working closely with the McConnells Volunteer Fire Department (MVFD) to prepare for potential emergencies that could develop due to the storm. The MVFD is prepped and ready!!! Gatta love those firefighters!!
