We wanted to take a moment to discuss insurance and some problems you might encounter. One of the most important things you can do is by making sure your provider is credentialed AND contracted with your insurance company and their sub-plans. Larger companies may have many different plans and although the provider is credentialed with the company itself, that doesn’t necessarily mean they are contracted with each of the different plans. Some companies will say that the provider is credentialed with them but don’t tell you that the provider also has to be contracted with each individual plan. An example would be:

If you have John Doe Ins. and have Plan C, we may be credentialed with John Doe Ins. but not contracted with Plan C like we are with Plan A and Plan B. Insurance companies will not pay if we are not contracted with the specific plan.

Feel free to give us a call and we would be more than happy to help with any questions you may have in regard to obtaining or changing insurance plans.
