Today is International Women’s Day, and it’s a day worth celebrating at Shepherd.

While we are incredibly grateful for the amazing men and women who care for our residents every day, today we recognize the strong, compassionate women who help lead the heart of our homes.

The women at Shepherd are caregivers, nurses, resident directors, cooks, leaders, problem solvers, and advocates. They show up early, stay late, and do the work that often goes unseen making sure our residents feel safe, valued, and truly at home.

This kind of work takes strength, patience, compassion, and a whole lot of heart. And every single day, the women across our Shepherd homes bring all of that and more.

Shepherd wouldn’t be what it is today without the dedication, leadership, and care these women bring to our residents, their families, and each other.

Today we are giving a HUGE shout out to Miranda Hornby, the incredible leader of our Shepherd Premier Senior Living of Elkhorn, WI

Since joining SPSL on December 9th, 2024, Miranda has poured her heart into transforming the Elkhorn house into a true home. Her dedication, leadership, and genuine care shine through in everything she does. She isn’t just running a home she’s building a warm, welcoming community where residents feel safe, valued, and loved.

Why she loves this work:
“I love being able to make a difference in a senior citizen’s life — making them happy and taking away their worries.”

And she does exactly that every single day.
