Today, Bridgett & Friends had the honor of attending the ALRAD Conference!

Our Executive Director had the incredible opportunity to speak about Jesus Christ and share the heart behind what we do every day at The Friends Center. 💛

We don’t just believe in recovery — we believe in total restoration.
Freedom from addiction.
Freedom from fear.
Freedom from the past.
And a future rebuilt on Christ.

It was powerful to stand alongside others who are fighting for lives, families, and communities to be transformed.

We are so grateful for every door God continues to open. The mission is bigger than us — and He is faithful to lead it.

Thank you to everyone who supports, prays for, and believes in Bridgett & Friends. We’re just getting started.

Today at Bridgett&Friends, we witnessed what love in action really looks like. 💛
One brave woman took a huge step forward and received her ID — something so simple to some, but life-changing for someone rebuilding. Doors opened today. Dignity restored. Hope reignited.

Now on to the next step🙌🏼

This stopped us in our tracks at the ACRM Training Conference😳

Research backs this up.

The CDC-Kaiser ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) Study found that individuals with 4 or more ACEs are:
▪️ 7x more likely to develop alcoholism
▪️ 10x more likely to inject street drugs
▪️ 2–4x more likely to struggle with substance use overall

The connection between obesity and type 2 diabetes is well known and significant — but the statistical correlation between high ACE scores and addiction is even stronger.

Childhood trauma changes brain development, stress response systems, and coping mechanisms. Addiction is often not about rebellion — it’s about unresolved pain.
