Happy Physical Therapy Month!
I was recently talking about the power and impact of what PT is/does for patients and the providers.
😊 It reminded me of this Robinson rockstar story from 2022-
“After Andrea Ingram had surgery on her right side due to an aneurysm rupture, she needed therapy to help build her strength back up.
Andrea began physical therapy at our Robinson center in Mckees Rock, PA. She enjoys fishing, crocheting and crafts, but after surgery, lost her stability and could no longer enjoy such activities. She felt tired, had low energy and needed a cane to walk because of poor balance.
During physical therapy, Andrea worked with our Katie Tarquinio, physical therapist and center manager, for approximately six months. As therapy progressed, Andrea began noticing a big difference in her life – she was starting to feel happy again.
“I remember being so happy that I could walk and not wander to my left,” said Andrea. “I also remember being so happy that I rode the bike for two miles. After a couple of weeks, I noticed improvement every time I left an appointment and remember feeling really good that I no longer needed a cane to walk.”
After months of therapy, Andrea has reached her goals of being stable on her feet and regaining strength. She doesn’t get as tired as quickly and even started to go fishing again.
“Katie was amazing,” said Andrea. “She kept me going with encouragement and praise. The whole staff was truly friendly, kind and celebrated when I would reach a new milestone. I would not be where I am today if not for NovaCare.”
