Meet Winslow and Bruce!

They are eagerly awaiting the return of their classmates on January 13, 2026 for the spring semester. These two training mannequins help our first-year and second-year students practice real-world scenarios through pop-up simulations in the classroom. From communication skills to hands-on clinical techniques and emergent situations, Winslow and Bruce make learning engaging, safe, and interactive. Our students love working with them as they build skills and confidence for patient care.

Heritage Valley School of Nursing Faculty Spotlight: Rita Ciccone

Rita is a proud graduate of the Ohio Valley General Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1995. After earning her nursing degree, she began her career at Ohio Valley General Hospital, where she spent 11 years working in Med-Surg, Rehabilitation, and other clinical areas. Her time there allowed her to develop a deep understanding of patient care and a passion for mentoring others.

In 2008, Rita returned to her alma mater as a faculty member of the Ohio Valley Hospital School of Nursing. When the school later became part of Heritage Valley Health System, she continued her teaching role and remains an integral part of the Heritage Valley School of Nursing today. Her career, spanning from student to instructor, reflects her lifelong dedication to nursing education and to the community.
