Laughter Yoga is a unique system of exercise based on the concept that anyone can laugh and receive tremendous health benefits without needing humor or jokes. Laughter Yoga combines yogic breathing with an assortment of lighthearted, interactive exercises that simulate or stimulate laughter. When done in a group with a spirit of playfulness the laughter soon turns real and contagious. It's a scientifically proven fact that our bodies can't tell the difference between fake and real laughter if done with willingness. We still receive all the physiological and biochemical benefits. Laughter Yoga was started by Dr. Madan Kataria, a physician doing research for an article about the medical benefits of laughter. It began in a park in India with 5 people in 1995. Today LY has gone global with thousands of laughter clubs in more than 65 countries.
