Inside, you’ll find:

✅ The key factors that influence whether tissue stays adhered
✅ The importance of choosing the correct slide for your application

Switching microtomes can feel like a big shift — especially when your current one is second nature. But some changes genuinely make your workflow better.

That’s Galileo.

Familiar where it matters, upgraded everywhere else.

Here’s what one lab professional had to say after two years of hands-on use:

“After two years of working on the Galileo microtome, I feel like I can’t go back to any other microtome that I’ve used before. The Galileo microtome has multiple key features. My favorites are the back light, which helps to identify tissue fragments in the block and the control panel. We can increase the speed of the trimming, engage the trimming status or the sectioning status, increase the speed of the trimming, and increase the thickness of our sections, all from the control panel.”
— BIOMED LAB TRAINING, LONDON

Here's why labs are choosing Galileo:
• Customize your microtome with a range of clamp holders, clamps, and blade carriers
• Backlit panel for clear visualization of small samples
• Three configuration options: handwheel, local touchscreen, or remote controller
• Optional Pro system for enhanced workflow features — and 46% higher throughput

Demo slots are filling fast. If you're considering an upgrade, now is the time to experience Galileo for yourself: https://www.statlab.com/galileo

Labeling errors account for more than half of clinical lab mistakes, according to a CAP study. When every cassette and slide represents a patient waiting on answers, even small inaccuracies carry big consequences.

PiSmart cassette and slide printers help labs take control of labeling accuracy and simplify daily workflows with:

✅ Included service & support when using StatLab validated slides or cassettes
✅ Fast 3–5 second print speed
✅ A compact, low-noise footprint that fits anywhere
✅ High-capacity barcoding—up to 200 characters
✅ Both thermal transfer and laser models

“Our PiSmart printers have been a game changer—70% fewer errors and none of the reliability issues we struggled with before.”
— Loretta Sayles, HT-ASCP

Smarter labeling. Greater confidence. Better efficiency for the work that matters most.

Brenda Ward, part of our R&D team, brought incredible energy and heart to the UCI Anti-Cancer Challenge this October—leading a 17-member team who walked, ran, and rode bicycles to raise funds for cancer research.

The team showed up in pink (of course!). And while we spend our days supporting the diagnostic journey, this was another way to stand behind the patients and families at the center of it all. Brenda and her team showed that commitment doesn’t stop at the lab door—it keeps going, mile after mile.

We’re proud of Brenda’s leadership and proud of our team for coming together to support a mission that touches every one of us.
