If March had a personality, for this year, she’d be… theatrical.

Sunshine one day, sideways rain the next, a little snow for flair—and just enough warmth to make you question everything. All four seasons, one very dramatic month.

And if you’ve been feeling a little “back and forth” yourself, you’re not alone.

Between the seasonal shifts and the unique pace (and pressure) of life around the nation’s capital, it’s completely normal to notice changes in your mood, sleep, energy, or even heightened allergy sensitivity. Your body is adapting in real time—even if it feels a bit like whiplash.

The good news? There’s a reason for it—and support can make a real difference.

Acupuncture is a wonderful way to help regulate those internal ups and downs, supporting better sleep, steadier mood, and relief from seasonal symptoms.

A quick scheduling note for those of you in town:

I have a few acupuncture-only appointments available this Thursday and Saturday while Friday is fully booked.

For Thursday we have 11:15, 11:45, 12:30, 2:30 *needs to be booked via front desk * and 3:00
Saturday we have 10 OR 10:30, 1:15

Looking ahead:
Monday is limited; we only have availability up until 3.

Only one spot remains for Tuesday, April 7th at 11:30.

Looks like the latest appointment for next week is a 4:15pm for acupuncture-only on Thursday, April 9th.

No availability this coming Saturday or next Monday (April 11th and 14th, respectively).

If you’ve been thinking about coming in, now’s a great time to reset and recalibrate.

You can book your acupuncture or acupuncture + cupping session today—I’d love to help you feel a bit more like yourself again (no matter what March—or April—decides to do next).

All the best,
Dr. Sarah

Hey everyone!

It’s been a little while since my last update, so I wanted to share some current availability and a few seasonal reminders.

We’ve had a last-minute opening today at 3:15—if anyone would like to grab it, just let us know!

Otherwise, the rest of this week’s availability is limited to morning appointments (while they last), with one additional opening this Saturday at 1:15.

Looking ahead, Mondays will continue to be limited. In fact, starting the week of 04/06, we may have both Mondays *and* Wednesdays closed. In exchange, Thursday hours will likely shift later by an hour (moving from 8:00–4:30 to 9:00–5:30).

Finally, spring is here! With the mix of wind, rain, sunshine—and plenty of pollen—it’s a great time to stay proactive about your health. Some simple reminders:

* Stay consistent with hydration
* Keep up with movement, even on rainy days
* Be mindful of allergies and inflammation triggers
* Get outside when you can, but protect against pollen as needed

As always, feel free to reach out if you’d like to schedule or have any questions.

Talk soon,
Dr. Sarah

Dear Patients,

We wanted to share a quick update regarding scheduling over the next couple of weeks.

Moving forward, Monday appointments will be limited as we will be without front desk staff support on those days. Because of this, any Monday appointments will need to be booked through the front desk in advance. At this time, you will not be able to schedule appointments for Mondays through our online scheduling system.

**Exception:** Rabia will be in the office **this Monday (3/16)**, so that day will run as usual, at least from 10:00-2:30pm.

Please also note that **Rabia will be out of the office Friday and Saturday (3/21–3/22)**. For those days, any appointments will again need to be arranged **through the front desk ahead of time.**

**Current availability this week:**
* **Friday 3/13:** 8:45 AM

**Next available appointment:**
* **Tuesday 3/17:** 2:30 PM
There may also be a possibility of scheduling an 11:15 for acupuncture only next Tuesday; again, this will need to be scheduled through the front desk.

You can reach us at 703-848-1980 (office line) or by emailing us at info@easternrootswellness.com

Strong women often carry a lot—careers, families, responsibilities, expectations. But strength also means knowing when to pause and care for yourself.

This International Women’s Day, take a moment to check in with your **mental, emotional, and physical health**. Your body does so much for you every single day, and it deserves support, nourishment, and rest.

Acupuncture is one of the ways we can help bring the body back into balance—supporting stress resilience, sleep, hormones, pain relief, and overall wellbeing.

Consider this your gentle reminder:
✨ You don’t have to run on empty.
✨ Taking care of yourself is not selfish—it’s necessary.
✨ When women support their health, they show up stronger for everything else in life.

Today we celebrate the resilience, strength, and wisdom of women everywhere. And we honor the importance of caring for ourselves along the way.

Happy International Women’s Day 💜

Taking time for your health this month? We’d love to support you.

Hello, All!

First, a sincere thank you for your patience and flexibility this past week. The schedule ended up being a little more chaotic than anticipated, and I truly appreciate everyone who adjusted appointment times or rolled with last-minute changes. Your kindness and understanding never go unnoticed, and it helps keep the clinic running smoothly.

Schedule for the Week Ahead

We do still have acupuncture appointments available throughout the week next week, but they will be **acupuncture-only sessions**.

At the moment, there is only one remaining evening slot, which is Tuesday at 5:45 PM.

With the current schedule, cosmetic acupuncture and acupuncture appointments that include manual therapies (such as cupping or gua sha) will not be available again until the week of March 16th (excluding those already scheduled, of course!).

Looking Ahead

Speaking of the week of the 16th — that week will also bring a transition for us. Next week (week of March 9th) will be Jessica’s final week helping in the clinic in person. We are so grateful for all of the organization and support she has brought to the practice!

As we move forward from there though, there may be some limited appointment availability for a little while as we settle into a new rhythm and adjust the schedule. Thank you in advance for your patience as we navigate that transition!

Daylight Savings: Tips for a Smoother Adjustment

Don’t forget that **Daylight Savings begins tonight**, which means losing an hour of sleep. Even small shifts in our internal clock can affect sleep, mood, and energy for a few days.

A few simple things that can help your body adjust more smoothly:
• Get **sunlight early in the morning** tomorrow if possible
• Try to **eat meals at regular times** to cue your body clock
• Go to bed **slightly earlier the next couple nights** if you feel tired
• Stay well **hydrated**, as fatigue is often worse when we’re dehydrated

Acupuncture can also be especially helpful this time of year for helping the body recalibrate its internal rhythm.

A Crystal for Resetting Your Rhythm (Silly, but Why Not!)
If you enjoy working with crystals, **smoky quartz** can be a wonderful companion during time changes. It’s traditionally associated with grounding and helping the body release stress and energetic “static.” Keeping a piece nearby during sleep or meditation can be a gentle reminder to stay centered while your body adjusts.

Thank you again for being such a supportive and wonderful community.

Best,
Dr. Sarah

02/28/2026

Good morning.

I would like to extend my sincerest apologies to those of you who are currently scheduled for appointments this coming Friday, March 6. I will be attending a funeral that day, and as a result, the office will be closed and those appointments will need to be rescheduled.

At this time, the only remaining availability next week is on Saturday, March 7. All other days are currently fully booked. If Rabia is available, I may be able to open the clinic on Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM to accommodate as many of you as possible who were scheduled for Friday. I am not yet certain if this will be feasible, but I will confirm as soon as I know.

Jessica will be in the office Monday morning and will personally reach out to all patients affected by this change to assist with rescheduling.

Additionally, if you happen to be in the office the Monday after next, please be sure to say goodbye to Jessica. While she is not leaving our team, she will be transitioning to a fully virtual role after Monday, March 9. She will be greatly missed in the clinic.

With Jessica moving to a virtual position, Rabia and I will be evaluating our clinic schedule moving forward. This may mean adding an additional closure day or limiting the number of appointments available on one or two days each week. I promise to keep you informed of any changes as decisions are made.

Thank you, as always, for your understanding and for the trust you place in me. It is truly appreciated.

Best,
Dr. Sarah

Just checking in to let you know about upcoming availability for appointments.

For this week, we have four potential appointments left for Thursday, February 26th at 9, 9:30, 12, and then either 1:45 OR 2:30.

After this Thursday, our next availability will not be until NEXT Thursday, March 5th at 9:15. We then have a 10:30 and 3:30 appointment for acupuncture only also available that day. The 9:15 and 10:30 will have to be booked through the front desk.

So please know that appointment availability for the rest of this week and next is limited. I'd encourage you to go ahead and book your next few appointments.

Otherwise, I also want to encourage all of those who suffer from seasonal spring allergies to go ahead and schedule an appointment as spring is just around the corner and having acupuncture BEFORE the pollen comes is the best way to prevent a nasty allergy season.

As always, any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out!
