Our cooking club made some FABULOUS butterscotch brownies today! We enjoyed them with some hot cocoa and trivia as we get geared up for our live performance this afternoon. We can’t wait to be serenaded by the wonderful Beth Sorbo Turk at 3pm! If you’re free, why not swing by and join us? She always puts on one heck of a show!

There’s never a better day for pie than today! We visited the Blue Raeven Farmstand in Amity today and the votes are in: they have the BEST pie! We split an Oregonberry pie (if it’s a berry, it was in it!) and enjoyed some beautiful weather and stellar company. What a great way to spend an afternoon! We’ll definitely be back for more scrumptious baked goods soon.

It may have been raining outside, but with all these smiles shining, who can help but feel sunny? Our readers picked up a huge variety of media, from cookbooks we’ll be trying recipes from, to mysteries, to fantasy, to travel guides, to CD’s, to movies our movie club will enjoy! Huge thanks to the wonderful librarians at the McMinnville Public Library who were able to point every resident in the direction they needed!

🥣 I’m helping MHS collect cereal and granola bars for their food boxes 🧡
🍁 This first round will go toward Thanksgiving, and then we’ll continue for Christmas 🎄

Boy are we filled with the Halloween spirit! Tomorrow we have the phenomenal Beth Sorbo Turk coming out to perform a selection of Halloween songs from 3-5 pm, and then Friday we have our Trunk or Treat event! We’ve got candy, food, costume contests and some other games to keep folks of all ages entertained! We hope you stop by and join in the spooky fun.

Did you know the local McMinnville library has not only a huge selection of books, dvds and cds, but also many other additional resources like a free seed library? We had so much fun picking some seeds to plant in our garden come springtime. From flowers to vegetables and fruits, it was hard to choose! We’re so grateful for these resources in our community. Several of our residents also picked up copies of our current book club books, The Hobbit and The Help so they can follow along on book club days!

Fircrest Senior Living offers various apartment styles in all of our individual communities. These include private studios, deluxe studios and shared accommodations. Members of our community are encouraged to furnish their home according to their individual tastes. Every apartment has wall to wall carpeting, individually controlled heating and air conditioning and private bathrooms with walk in showers. Emergency call systems are conveniently located in each apartment for the comfort of our residents.

People residing at Fircrest Senior Living will enjoy amenities including three enjoyable meals each day. We have large spaces for creative arts, exercise, events, music and social gatherings. We have a media room with a large screen television, a warm library which invites reading and relaxation, and abundant seating and private spaces for visiting with family and friends. Fircrest Senior Living additionally offers a beauty/barber salon, transportation service for outings and medical appointments, outdoor patio areas and a gorgeous water feature to enjoy on a sunny day.
