Some day they’ll know…

That the magic they felt was really their mama working extra hard to give them the best life.

Some day they’ll know…

That every tradition, every holiday, every birthday, every day was made special by their mama putting in extra hours and details.

Some day they’ll know…

That every time they had a hard day, their mama had one too. That she wished all of their pain into her own heart, so they didn’t have to feel it at all.

Some day they’ll know…

That every ounce of patience and love went straight to them. Their happiness is her greatest achievement.

Some day they’ll know…

The hard work she put in to give them everything they needed and most of what they wanted.

Some day they’ll know…

She fought for them in every aspect of their lives, especially when they weren’t looking.

Some day they’ll know…

That she gave up so much for them, but to her it wasn’t a sacrifice, it was love.

Some day they’ll know…

There is no love compared to the love a mother has for her children. Because a mother’s love is the most priceless gift ever to exist.

Accurate! ✅ 💕

Hold the mother, not the baby.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣
Because the baby’s being taken care of—⁣⁣
fed, snuggled, and given all the love in the world—⁣⁣
by not only the mother,⁣⁣
but her partner, grandparents, siblings, cousins, and friends.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣
But the mother,⁣⁣
may have gaps in her mind from lack of sleep,⁣⁣
may be mechanical in her motions as she’s healing,⁣⁣
may feel more like a mess than a mother,⁣⁣
may be sitting in bed, crying, feeling overwhelmed in her body and life,⁣⁣
may be full of mom guilt because in her mind, "she's not good enough,"⁣⁣
and she’s bleeding, wincing in pain, swollen and emotional.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣
And the mother’s that baby's whole world and needs to be seen, so she doesn't disappear into that postpartum fog.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣
So, hold the mother, not the baby.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣
A mother agrees that her baby matters more.⁣⁣
But she’s hurting, while she’s the person behind the baby,⁣⁣
in the background, making it all happen:⁣⁣
feeding her baby at all hours,⁣⁣
snuggling her baby close to comfort newborn cries,⁣⁣
and being that baby’s everything.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣
So, it’s the mother who needs your love.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣
And a mother will remember who held her up.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣
So instead of “I’m coming to see the baby,”⁣⁣
try saying, “I’m coming to see you 𝘢𝘯𝘥 meet the baby, too.”⁣⁣
⁣⁣

Because the mother needs to be held more

🚨 PSA! Your OB normally won’t have time to educate you on childbirth and all of your options during your 15 min office visits every month. This becomes your responsibility to determine how and where you birth. “Winging it” may be a great idea when trying something new on a menu, or an exciting date night, but when discussing the birth of a child, preparedness is key. Childbirth education along with birth and postpartum support are key in helping new parents navigate this blessing of pregnancy and birth.

A little bit about me…

Hi!! My name is Courtney. I am currently embarking on this journey of becoming a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula! I have been drawn to this servantship through my love of the whole birth process and babies! I am excited to be able to give expecting Moms the in’s and out’s of the BLESSINGS of birth!

I am currently going through vigorous training which will provide me with all the information and tools needed to be a Mom’s go-to advocate when it comes to prenatal education, birth, postpartum, breastfeeding, nutrition and also prenatal yoga! I will be able to provide all the information for a couple to make educated decisions for their own BIRTH BLESSING! 💕

I don’t believe any Mom should birth alone. She should not have to walk away from her birth experience with the feeling that she did not have a choice of how HER ‘normal’ birth should look like. I believe birth does and should look different for EVERYONE. Many expecting parents are unaware of the many options and rights they do have and that’s where I come in!

Having the ability to comfort a Mom/Family and inform her/them that their BLESSING doesn’t have to be a just another cookie cutter birth just brings delight and warmth to my heart.
