Every 15 minutes, a baby is born with a congenital heart defect. For families, that statistic is not just a number. It is a lifelong journey of care, monitoring, and support.

As children with congenital heart conditions grow into adulthood, ongoing heart care remains critical. Cardiac rehab can play an important role in building strength, improving heart health, and supporting long-term quality of life for patients of all ages.

This American Heart Month, we are proud to offer Cardiac Rehab services close to home, helping patients and families navigate heart health with confidence. Learn more about our program on our website.

American Heart Month is a reminder that heart health matters every day, not just after a scare. Heart disease remains the leading cause of death, but early intervention, lifestyle changes, and ongoing support can make a real difference.

Our Cardiac Rehab program is designed to help patients recover, rebuild strength, and gain confidence after a heart event or diagnosis. If you or someone you love has been told cardiac rehab is recommended, we are here to help every step of the way.

Learn more about our Cardiac Rehab services on our website or call 620-241-2251, Ext. 177!

Congratulations to Summer Demel, RN, BSN, Inpatient Quality Analyst, on completing KHA’s Advocacy All-Star Training!

This dynamic program equips hospital professionals to be strong voices for Kansas hospitals and the patients we serve. Summer joined fellow healthcare leaders in Topeka October 20–22 for hands-on advocacy education, learning how to connect with elected officials at the local, state, and federal levels, hearing from former legislators and government staff, and even participating in a mock bill hearing.

The training wrapped up with a celebration and recognition, followed by the opportunity to put those advocacy skills into action at KHA Advocacy Day on January 22, 2026.

We’re proud of Summer for stepping up to advocate for healthcare in our community and beyond. Thank you for representing our hospital with excellence and heart!
