Nelson County Health Services Foundation The Nelson County Health Services Foundation is securing the future of health services in Nelson County.

* Nelson County Health System is the LARGEST RURAL HEALTH CARE DELIVERY SYSTEM SERVING THE SMALLEST AND OLDEST POPULATION IN THE U.S.A. The Nelson County Health Services Foundation was established to provide financial support for equipment, services, education, and other capital projects relating to health care in Nelson County and surrounding areas.

* NCHS Foundation has been responsible for raising over ONE Million dollars to benefit the Nelson County Health System which includes the Hospital, Care Center, McVille Clinic, and the Lakota Health Center.

* By keeping NCHS strong, everyone benefits!! Not only is the health system critical for meeting the diverse health care needs of the area, it also plays a significant role in preserving the economic strength of the communities.

* Nelson County Health System wants to insure long-term availability of a progressive, high quality health system, while maintaining the CARING, PERSONAL touch for which it is known!

We had a good turnout for our Heart Healthy event this week! Healthy snacks were served, thank you to Norma Trost for the muffins! Janel Goetz RD and Mike Hammer NP were available to answer any questions. If you would like to inquire about a diabetes risk assessment, please call one of our clinics. We also would love to establish care with you as well!

Our Foundation is very excited to be able to help make this new initiative possible in our community and the FIRST in North Dakota! With the help of some amazing donors including community members, NCHS Staff, North Dakota Telephone Company and proceeds from our 2019 Picnics in the Park and the 2019 Table Fantasia, we were able to purchase this very comfortable and smooth rickshaw called The Chat which is considered the "Rolls Royce" of the rickshaws!

Even though today isn't the nicest day, we have a BEAUTIFUL day yesterday for our 2nd Picnic! Thank you to all of those who came to support our Foundation and NCHS. We served 110 people yesterday! We hope the Summer will continue to have beautiful Mondays and hope to see you next week!
