👶 Start healthy habits early — your baby's smile will thank you!

Before teeth erupt, wipe your baby's gums with a soft, damp cloth after feedings. Once teeth appear, use a soft brush and a smear of fluoride toothpaste. Turn brushing into a game with songs and positive reinforcement, and keep sugary drinks and snacks to a minimum.

Schedule your baby's first visit at Mebane Pediatric Dentistry within six months of their first tooth — or by their first birthday.

🦷 Ouch! Toothaches aren't fun — especially for little ones.

Cavities form when bacteria feed on sugary foods and produce acids that damage enamel. Gum disease causes tender, bleeding gums. Teething, tooth injuries, sinus infections, teeth grinding and food stuck between teeth can all be culprits too.

Prevent pain with brushing, flossing, healthy snacks and regular check-ups at Mebane Pediatric Dentistry.

😢 Teething can be tough — on babies and parents alike.

Signs like drooling, fussiness and gum rubbing typically start around 6 months. Help your baby with cold teething rings, chilled washcloths and gentle gum massages. Avoid teething necklaces and sugary gels. Once that first tooth pops, clean with a damp cloth and a tiny smear of fluoride toothpaste.

🤔 Wondering if your child's smile needs a little help?

Crowding, crooked teeth, or bite problems like overbites and crossbites may signal it's time to see an orthodontist. Habits like thumb-sucking past age 3 can also affect alignment — and early evaluation prevents bigger issues later.

Schedule a consult at Mebane Pediatric Dentistry and keep their smile on track! 😁

🎉🦷 From first tooth to wisdom teeth — your child’s smile has many milestones!

At NC Pediatric Dentistry, we guide families through every stage of their child’s dental journey. 💙

👶 The first tooth usually appears around 6 months — start brushing and schedule their first visit within 6 months or by their first birthday.
🪥 As more teeth come in, brush twice daily and floss once teeth begin to touch.
😄 Around age 6, baby teeth fall out and permanent teeth come in — this is when treatments like fluoride or sealants may be recommended.
🦷 In the late teens or early twenties, wisdom teeth may appear and sometimes need removal if there isn’t enough space.

Every stage matters — and we’re here to help keep your child’s smile healthy every step of the way! ✨

📏🦷 Early orthodontic treatment starts sooner than you think!

At NC Pediatric Dentistry, interceptive orthodontics typically takes place between ages 7–11 — focusing on guiding jaw growth and setting the stage for healthy adult teeth.

This early phase can help:
✨ Create space for erupting teeth
✨ Correct habits like thumb-sucking or tongue-thrusting
✨ Reduce the risk of dental trauma
✨ Boost your child’s confidence

Treatments may include expanders or partial braces to gently guide development, and usually last 12–18 months.

Starting early can make future treatment simpler and more effective — ask us if your child could benefit! 😁💙

😃🦷 Done with braces? Let’s protect that new smile!

At Mebane Pediatric Dentistry, we remind patients that teeth aren’t fixed in place — without a retainer, they can slowly shift back over time.

There are different types of retainers, including:
✨ Hawley retainers (acrylic with wire)
✨ Essix clear retainers
✨ Fixed bonded retainers

To keep your smile looking its best:
✔️ Wear your retainer as directed (full-time at first, then nightly)
✔️ Clean it daily
✔️ Store it safely
✔️ Avoid heat that can warp it

Skipping your retainer can lead to shifting — and even needing braces again. Stay consistent and protect your results! 😁💙

🛡️🦷 Sealants = Superhero Shields for Teeth!

At Mebane Pediatric Dentistry in Mebane, dental sealants are a simple way to protect your child’s smile by blocking food and bacteria from settling into the grooves of back teeth.

Molars are especially prone to cavities because of their deep pits and grooves — places that are hard to clean with a toothbrush alone. Sealants act as a protective barrier to help reduce the risk of decay, especially for kids and teens. ✨ The process is quick and painless: Clean, Prep, Apply, Light cure 💡

Sealants can last for years with occasional touch-ups — giving your child long-lasting protection! 😁💙
