Our Approach:
Speech Stars was founded by two clinicians that are passionate about providing the best quality care possible. The clinicians at Speech Stars love learning about and implementing new treatment methods and bring all they have to offer to your child and your family. We believe in individualized treatment and fun, engaging therapy that includes both the child and care giver from beginning to end.

We are nationally certified and state licensed for speech language pathology and are qualified to evaluate and treat a variety of speech and language disorders and delays including language delays, articulation and phonology delays, Apraxia, pragmatic delays, auditory processing disorder, and other communicative disorders.

We’re excited to introduce our newest therapist, Janette Ramirez, and formally announce that we are offering bilingual Spanish speech services! 🎉⭐️

Janette is a bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist who is passionate about helping her patients find their voice and build meaningful communication skills. She earned
her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has experience working with individuals across the lifespan, with a special focus on English and Spanish speaking pediatric patients ages 2–18. Janette has provided
services in a variety of settings including outpatient clinics, schools, Head Start programs, and virtual therapy. Her clinical experience includes supporting children with early language development, school-age language needs, articulation delays, childhood apraxia of speech, dysarthria, cognitive-communication challenges, and auditory processing difficulties. She
has worked with children across a wide range of diagnoses including cerebral palsy, down syndrome, autism, and other genetic syndromes. Janette is especially passionate about using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), gestalt language supports, child-led play, and sensory-regulating strategies to help children communicate in ways that
feel natural and empowering. She values strong collaboration with families and believes in building meaningful relationships to create functional and holistic therapy goals.

Janette’s family is originally from El Salvador, and she currently lives in Mebane, North Carolina with her husband. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and dog, reading, making jewelry, and hiking.

Karson C is our Shining Star of the Week! ⭐

When Karson first started working with Ms. Jillian, he was extremely shy. He shared the sweetest smiles, played so gently, and occasionally used sign language, but he had difficulty expressing his wants and needs. In just a few short months—with the support of his amazing family—Karson has made incredible progress! He is now using a variety of words, continuing to use sign language, and even putting together two-word phrases. Because of his hard work, Karson has officially been discharged from speech therapy and is happily communicating with his friends and family.

Ms. Jillian will certainly miss their weekly play sessions, but she is so proud to see Karson shining and communicating all on his own. Way to go, Karson! 🌟

We’re excited to introduce our new SLP, Linda Summers! 🎉

Linda is a proud native of Guilford County. She is dedicated to helping children build confidence and strengthen communication skills. After an earlier career that enriched her perspective and deepened her commitment to helping others, she found her true calling in speech-language pathology. She earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of South Carolina.

Her clinical training spans a variety of settings, including schools, private practice, skilled nursing facilities, and hospitals, providing a well rounded clinical foundation. While she has experience supporting individuals across the lifespan, she is especially passionate about focusing her skills in pediatrics.

Linda has had the joy of working with children facing a variety of communication challenges, including articulation and phonological disorders, expressive and receptive language delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and those who utilize augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). She believes therapy should be meaningful, playful, and full of curiosity, with sessions that spark engagement and growth. Linda is passionate about partnering with families, creating supportive and collaborative relationships that help children thrive. When she’s not in the clinic, you can find her enjoying music, sharing laughs with family and friends, and soaking in life’s little moments.
