Our Approach:
Speech Stars was founded by two clinicians that are passionate about providing the best quality care possible. The clinicians at Speech Stars love learning about and implementing new treatment methods and bring all they have to offer to your child and your family. We believe in individualized treatment and fun, engaging therapy that includes both the child and care giver from beginning to end.

We are nationally certified and state licensed for speech language pathology and are qualified to evaluate and treat a variety of speech and language disorders and delays including language delays, articulation and phonology delays, Apraxia, pragmatic delays, auditory processing disorder, and other communicative disorders.

Our amazing Shining Star for this week is Zion! 🎉✨

Zion has been working hard communicating his needs, wants, labeling objects and actions with Miss Sam. He is always excited to attend his sessions and has started following 1 step directions with only a verbal cue. Zion has experienced a language explosion over the last few months and weeks. He is producing new, different words and consistently working on longer utterances. We love to hear his voice, hear him laugh and see his handsome smile.

We are excited to introduce our newest SLP Assistant, Victoria! 🎉

Victoria Jackson, B.S., SLPA earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Bob Jones University. She has two years of experience working as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in a pediatric clinic in South Carolina and gained additional experience in school-based settings during her undergraduate clinical training. Victoria is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at North Carolina Central University. She has experience working with children from ages 18 months to teenage years, supporting expressive and receptive language disorders and delays, AAC, articulation and phonological disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and literacy development. Victoria is passionate about play-based, child-centered therapy that promotes engagement and meaningful progress, and she values collaboration with parents to support carryover beyond the therapy room. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing the piano, baking, and spending time with family.

Our wonderful Star of the Week is Chesnie! 🎉✨

Chesnie has been super determined to master her /r/ sound with Miss Anna, always has a smile on her face when working on any of her goals, and loves to express how well her /s/ blends sound since she’s started speech! She’s showing progress through self-correcting her errors, sharing about how she practices at home, and never gives up when learning something new!

Our amazing Star of the Week is Braxton! 🎉

Braxton has worked hard with Ms. Caroline! He has learned so many ASL signs in the past few sessions, including “stop”, “go”, “big”, “little”, “music”, ”work” “want”. He is also continuing the work on “yes”, “no”, “more”, “all done”, and “water”. He has also been working on articulator placement for new sounds! He is able to get his lips together and is working on coordinating the sound!
