Been a long time since we posted anything. The winter looks like it might finally be giving way to Spring. What an easy winter we had. More snow in March then the rest of the entire winter but snow in March does not last long. And February with what 6 new record high temperatures.
We enjoyed many outings over the winter.
We provide 3 home cooked meals a day but pride ourselves on making the folks who live here feel like they are a home with aides to help them with their needs. Any time you want a snack you have one and ice cream in the evenings continues to be our most popular snack although flavored yogurts are catching up . And now time to plan some more outings. I think the new aquarium in Rotterdam is high on the list.

Well it has been a wonderful summer and fall here at our Cook Adult Home. We have enjoyed our resident's garden which supplied our home with fresh tomatoes, both beefsteak and grape, squash, cucumber and garlic, An afternoon adventure anyone? We have been all over again as our residents enjoyed boating on the Caldwell Belle on the Champlain canal and the upper Hudson River a ride we recommend to all. We toured around Lake George on the Adirondac & Horicon boats of the Lakeshore Steamboat Company as well as some of the boats of the Lake George Steamboat Company. Lake George is lovely. We took the Gondola ride up the mountain at Gore and found ourselves agreeing " More Gore" , and also picnicked in beautiful Thatcher Park. We look forward to the beautiful views again next fall as we do all these things again next year. Warrensburg has what is claimed as the world's largest garage sale and we were there. It is Huge.
Out to lunch we enjoyed wonderful meals from Pizza in Lake George, Sweet Basil in Queensbury, one of our all time favorites, and the Skyline diner in Rennselear as well as the following in between: Bookmakers,Applebee's and Golden Coral in Saratoga. In Clifton Park we have been to Red Robin, Grecian Gardens, Pam's Pub, Cracker Barrel, Olive Garden, Chili's , Friday's, 99, and Valente's in Watervliet. We managed to "pitch in" more then half a dozen ball games down at the Joe where the entire " team" took so such wonderful care of us. Our team won more then they lost when we were there. GO CATS! and a big thank you to the Joe's management for everything Did I mention the wonderful fireworks at the Joe?

We have been very busy here at the Cook home doing our Spring cleaning and checking out restaurants that we haven't been to in a while on our weekly outings and shopping trips. We just tried Chili's, for the first time in awhile, and we all loved it and hope to go back regularly now. We have our vegetable garden started. New chairs for the freshly painted dining room really enhance this beautiful room and we can't wait until the molding around the ceiling is all back up. Yes the maroon chairs look great with the dark wood floors and trim and the cream walls. Thank you!

Been a long time since we posted anything. Well the winter looks like it might finally be giving way to Spring in another week or two. What an easy winter we had. More snow in April then the rest of the entire winter but snow in April does not last long. Weird winter.
We enjoyed many outings over the winter.

We now have several rooms, including a private room, available where we will pamper and care for residents. We provide 3 home cooked meals a day but pride ourselves on making the folks who live here feel like they are a home with aides to help them with their needs. Any time you want a snack you have one and ice cream in the evenings continues to be our most popular snack. Time to plan some more outings

We had a wonderful pre Thanksgiving road trip this week as we enjoyed some Italian food and a wonderful salad bar for lunch before doing a shopping trip. We all look forward to the usual Holiday fare as we celebrate the all American Holiday of Thanksgiving: Turkey, sweet potatoes, potatoes, cranberry sauce, etc and of course pies. We wish all a wonderful day.

Well the last 2 weeks have been very exciting. Last week we adventured to Thatcher Park in the hill towns South of Albany and enjoyed the marvelous views and the beautiful fall color. Lunch was great hamburgers. This week we caught the wonderful Empire State Youth Orchestra down at Proctor's in Schenectady. We do love our trips.

What another wonderful adventure. A terrific Italian meal at our favorite Queensbury restaurant. After lunch we explored the French and Indian Wars at the Fort William Henry. The fort is a real treasure. A guided tour, musket firing and cannon firing. A little time in the gift shop and a beautiful ride around the Lake and the village. A good time was had by all. A very long day, but a great adventure.
