We are in desperate need of medium to large size boxes. Please consider dropping them off to us rather than tossing in the compactor. Thank you.

SWAP Shop will not be opening for the 2020 season due to Covid-19
Unfortunately, after careful consideration, the Medfield Swap Shop will not be opening this season due to the pandemic.
The State of MA has very strict guidelines for any business to reopen and after reviewing all of the restrictions and given that the SWAP is entirely volunteer run, it has been determined that the SWAP cannot safely reopen.
We look forward to seeing everyone for the 2021 SWAP season! STAY SAFE!
For those inquiring minds that need to know...here are just a few guidelines that would need to be followed:
SOCIALDISTANCING Ensure >6ft between individuals •Each site must monitor customer entries and exits and limit occupancy at all times to •8 persons (including staff/volunteers) per 1,000 square feet of accessible, indoor space. (Almost impossible given swap layout and volunteers available) •All occupant counts, and calculations shall include customers and workers (volunteers). •Any children’s play areas must be closed. (Almost impossible to keep kids from playing with toys, unless children are not allowed.) •Sites must put markers outside of the site to ensure 6 feet of distance for customers who are waiting outside to enter. (Not enough space without placing people waiting in the parking area) •Install visual social distancing markers to encourage customers to remain 6 feet apart (e.g., lines outside of the site if applicable. (Would the town provide these?) •Establish directional aisles to manage customer flow for foot traffic, if possible, to minimize contact (e.g., one-way entrance and exit to the site, one-way aisles). •Post clearly visible signage regarding these policies. (Would the town provide these, and where would they be posted?) •Require face coverings for all workers and customers, except where unsafe due to medical condition or disability. (It is often quite hot during the days at the swap, so wearing face masks for several hours may be difficult for many)
CLEANING & DISINFECTING Incorporate robust hygiene protocols •Conduct frequent cleaning and disinfection of site (at least daily and more frequently if feasible). •Keep cleaning logs that include date, time, and scope of cleaning. (Almost impossible given Swap is completely volunteer run)
