Let’s clear something up.
Carbs are not out to get you.
Your brain, muscles, and hormones actually love glucose.
The problem is not carbs, it is the type, the timing, and the lack of balance with protein and fat.
At Macro Mavens, we encourage clients to focus on non-inflammatory sources first. That means the majority of your carbs should come from whole fruits and veggies, not from processed snacks pretending to be health food.
Once you have a strong foundation there, you can absolutely make room for things like potatoes and sourdough, especially when they are paired with protein and fiber.
Carbs are fuel. When you eat the right kinds, in the right balance, they work with your body, not against it.

It is for muscle, metabolism, mood, and even your skin and hair.

At Macro Mavens, we typically aim to get clients to around 0.7 grams per pound of ideal body weight as a baseline, sometimes more, sometimes less, depending on your needs. Of course, fats and carbs are important too but those volumes really depend on the individual and goals!
But we do not just throw you into the deep end. We build it up slowly and intentionally, especially if your gut is sensitive or you have a history of under eating.
Protein is powerful, but the how matters just as much as the how much.

Heidi brings such a unique and powerful background to this role. With 20 years as a Physical Education Specialist, along with degrees in Athletic Training and Teaching, she has spent her life helping people build confidence through movement, consistency, and foundational habits.
What makes this even more special… Heidi started as a Macro Mavens client.
She experienced firsthand what it feels like to finally understand how to fuel your body, create sustainable progress, and step into true food freedom. That transformation is what led her here, and it’s what fuels the way she now supports others.
Her approach is rooted in everything we believe in, simple, sustainable habits, personalized nutrition, and building a lifestyle that actually lasts.

Exercise should be a non negotiable.

Not for aesthetics, but for your metabolism, your strength, your brain, and your longevity.

Find something you actually enjoy and protect it like an appointment you would never cancel. When you treat movement as part of your life instead of something you do only when you feel motivated, everything changes.

Because one day you will either wish you had started sooner or you will be grateful you did.
