How's your calcium intake? A new study involving half a billion women found calcium intake was a significant protector against colon cancer. We find it interesting that this association was true regardless of the source of calcium, further enforcing the strength of this connection. Other nutrients such as vitaminB2, magnesium, potassium and vitamin C also received positive mentions.
On the other side of things, the study found that consuming alcohol was the greatest risk factor for colon cancer.
