Exercise before surgery isn’t about pushing through pain.

It’s about preparing your body to heal better.

Even light, consistent movement before shoulder surgery can improve strength, maintain mobility, and support a smoother recovery afterward.

A simple routine done daily can make a real difference in how you feel after surgery.

Save this post if surgery is on your horizon and share it with someone who needs to prepare the right way.

Shoulder blade pain and dysfunction are often the missing piece behind ongoing shoulder issues.

If your scapula isn’t moving or stabilizing the way it should, no amount of rotator cuff work will fully fix the problem. The good news is that the right exercises can help restore control, strength, and coordination.

Watch the video to see a few simple movements that can make a big difference.

Grateful to hear updates like this.

Getting patients back to the activities they love, without pain, is always the goal. Being able to return to skiing comfortably after shoulder surgery is a big milestone, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see that progress months later.

If shoulder pain is holding you back from the activities you love, let’s talk about your options.

Most weightlifters spend a lot of time training the front of the body, especially the chest. Over time, that imbalance can lead to tightness, limited shoulder motion, and eventually pain or injury.

In this video, I walk through three simple exercises that are often overlooked but critical for shoulder health. These movements focus on scapular control and rotator cuff strength, helping balance the shoulder and reduce unnecessary stress during lifting.

Watch the video to see how to perform each exercise correctly and why they matter.

📌 Save this if you lift regularly and want to protect your shoulders long-term.

If you want to protect your rotator cuff and keep your shoulders strong, exercise selection matters.

I’m a much bigger fan of abduction-based movements, especially slow eccentrics with very light weight. This approach builds strength while minimizing unnecessary strain on the tendon.

Watch the video to see how I cue these exercises and why less weight often leads to better outcomes.

Why Prehab Matters for Shoulder Surgery

Preparing your body and mind before surgery isn’t just a nice-to-have — it makes a real difference in your recovery. Prehab focuses on three key areas:

1️⃣ Exercise – Keeps muscles strong and joints healthy. Aim for daily aerobic activity and shoulder-specific prehab.
2️⃣ Nutrition – Fuels healing with high protein, vitamins D & C, magnesium, and proper hydration.
3️⃣ Psychology – Stress, anxiety, and low resilience can slow recovery. Meditation, music, and deep breathing help.

✨ The Outcome: Patients who do prehab often recover faster, experience fewer complications, and regain stronger shoulder function.

📌 Save this post and start your prehab journey today! Ask your surgeon how to personalize a plan that’s right for you.

Your desk setup might be affecting your shoulders more than you think.

Hours of typing, hunching, and reaching can overload your neck, upper back, and rotator cuff — but a few simple ergonomic habits can make a big difference.

Here’s how to protect your shoulders at work:
🖥️ Lift your screen to eye level to avoid forward head posture
💺 Keep elbows at 90° with your arms close to your sides
🪑 Support your lower back so your shoulders don’t round forward
🖐️ Use a mouse + keyboard position that doesn’t force you to reach
🧍‍♂️ Take micro-breaks every 30–45 minutes to reset posture
🔄 Do quick mobility resets: shoulder rolls, chest opening, gentle stretches

Small adjustments, done consistently, prevent strain and help your shoulders stay strong, mobile, and pain-free — even during long workdays.

Save this if you spend hours at a desk. Your shoulders will thank you.
