That sudden, sharp pain in your big toe that wakes you up at night?

👉 It might be gout!

Gout is a form of arthritis caused by a buildup of uric acid in your body. When that uric acid forms crystals in your joints, especially in the feet, it can cause intense pain, redness, and swelling.

While gout is common, it’s not something you should try to manage on your own.

If you’re dealing with recurring foot pain or swelling, a podiatrist can help you find relief and prevent future flare-ups.

Make sure to like and save this post to recognize gout symptoms early, and follow Southern Oregon Foot & Ankle for more ways to keep your feet healthy and happy!

Plantar Wart vs. Callus — Do you know the difference? 👣

They can look similar, but how they feel and form are totally different.

🔹 Warts come from a virus (HPV) and often have those telltale black dots.

🔹 Calluses form from pressure or friction — think shoes that rub or areas that bear weight.

If you’re unsure which one you have, a podiatrist can tell in seconds and treat it safely (no painful at-home remedies needed!).

Call us at Southern Oregon Foot & Ankle to take care of all your foot care needs.
