Monday mood: My feet after pretending I had a relaxing weekend

If your feet are already tired and it’s only Monday, that’s not something you just have to “push through.” Foot pain is your body’s way of waving a little red flag.

Long days, worn-out shoes, old injuries, or conditions like plantar fasciitis can all flare up fast. The good news? Most foot pain is very treatable when you don’t ignore it.

Start your week off on the right foot. If pain is slowing you down, we’re here to help! Call today to schedule an appointment!

Foot surgery can sound intimidating, but it’s not something we jump to right away.

The goal is always to start with conservative treatments like orthotics, physical therapy, footwear changes, or injections. But when pain continues to affect daily life or a condition keeps progressing, surgery can be a safe and effective way to finally get lasting relief.

Modern techniques often mean smaller incisions, improved outcomes, and smoother recoveries than many people expect.

You don’t have to live with ongoing foot pain. If something hasn’t been improving, a podiatry visit can help you understand your options and decide what the right next step looks like for you.

If your heel pain feels worse in winter, you’re not imagining it.

Cold weather can cause the plantar fascia and calf muscles to tighten, increasing tension on the heel. Add in less movement, stiff shoes, and harder surfaces, and plantar fasciitis often flares.

Why winter makes heel pain worse:
• Cold muscles and tendons are less flexible
• Less daily movement = more stiffness
• Unsupportive shoes indoors
• Pushing through pain on cold runs

Early morning heel pain or pain after running is a common sign.

Foot pain isn’t something to “wait out.” Addressing it early can help keep you active all winter.

Make sure to give us a call if your heel pain isn't getting any better.

Knowing when to skip a run can actually keep you running longer.

Skip your run if you notice:

• Sharp or stabbing foot or heel pain
• Swelling, redness, or warmth
• Pain that changes how you walk or run
• Pain that worsens the longer you run

Pushing through pain, especially in cold weather, can turn a small issue into a long-term injury.

Rest is part of training.

And if foot or ankle pain keeps coming back, it’s time to get it checked.

If you are sufferening from foot pain, make sure to give us a call to make an appointment. Our goal is to get you back on your feet so you can keep running, or doing whatever it is you love!
