Now Open: Riverside Emergency Lodging
722 S. Riverside Ave, Medford, OR
(Referral required)

We’re proud to announce the soft opening of Riverside Emergency Lodging, Continuum’s newest low-barrier lodging site for adults of all genders who are unsafely housed and waiting for residential treatment.

This program provides 12 single-occupancy rooms with private bathrooms and connects guests with case management, peer support, and outpatient treatment services — helping people stabilize, engage in recovery, and transition successfully to treatment.

Why it matters:
• Emergency lodging is designed to provide a safe place for someone to stay while they wait for a bed in residential treatment
• To qualify, an unhoused or unsafely housed individual must be on a waitlist for residential treatment (at any location).
• At least 62% of individuals on Continuum’s waitlists are unhoused or unsafely housed.
• To date, 68% of Continuum’s emergency lodging guests have successfully transitioned into treatment.
• Guests often experience greater stability and engagement, and many move directly into outpatient care rather than residential treatment.

Photos show our team preparing the site — arranging furniture and ensuring each room meets safety standards for guests previous to opening day.

At our Emergency Lodging site, every bed represents hope — and a new path forward.

Saborear y Sanar (Savor and Heal): 2nd Gathering of Latino Leaders

Thank you to all the leaders and participants who joined us last Friday to share, reflect, and strengthen our community during the Saborear y Sanar event!

It was a space filled with connection, learning, and celebration of our roots and resilience.

Special thanks to Eduardo Borges for his inspiring talk, “Happiness in Challenging Times”; to Salvador Amezola from Bestcare Latino Services for his thoughtful closing; to Nancy Castillo-McKinnis from The Ford Family Foundation; to Jocksana Corona from Coalición Fortaleza, and Jenny Castillo for their presentation that promotes community well-being and Latino support; to our team of Latino representatives from Continuum; and to everyone who made this gathering possible.

Together, we continue building wellness and leadership within our communities.

Here are a few moments from this wonderful event.

Board Spotlight: Tricia Prendergast, Past President

We’re honored to feature a special video spotlight on Tricia Prendergast, our Past Board President and a lifelong advocate for education, community, and well-being in the Rogue Valley.

Tricia has lived in this beautiful region since 1972, where she raised her three wonderful, now-grown children. Her extensive volunteer work includes 16 years on the Medford School Board, where she co-chaired two successful bond campaigns to build Abraham Elementary School and the new South Medford High School, along with numerous other district facility improvements.

Now retired, Tricia continues to inspire others through her lifelong yoga practice, teaching four Anusara classes each week at the Rogue Valley Family YMCA and La Clinica del Valle. When she’s not teaching, she and her husband enjoy traveling to visit their four children and six grandchildren across the country. She also loves baking and selling sourdough bread, gardening, hiking, biking, and river rafting. Lately, she’s been exploring her creative side through drawing and watercolor painting, and she dreams of one day writing and illustrating her own children’s books.

In the video below, Tricia shares her reflections on Continuum’s rebranding journey and what our mission means to her:

“I love living in our beautiful Rogue Valley and helping improve the lives of all members of our community through my support of the important and cutting-edge mission that Continuum upholds.”

We are deeply grateful for Tricia’s leadership, vision, and continued support throughout our transition from OnTrack to Continuum. 💙

🎓 On-PACE Cohort VI Graduation

Last Friday, we proudly celebrated our newest On-PACE (Continuum Peer and Counselor Education) graduates and scholars — individuals who have completed training and hands-on experience to become Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors (CADCs) and Peer Support Specialists.

The On-PACE program empowers participants to earn while they learn through paid, in-person training and on-the-job experience across Continuum programs — preparing them to make a real difference in the behavioral health field.

Congratulations to all our graduates and scholars for their dedication, growth, and commitment to recovery and community healing!

Special thanks to our instructors, mentors, and the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) for supporting this vital workforce development initiative.

Members of our Latino staff proudly represented us at the 8th Annual Latinos Unidos Conference in Redmond, OR this August!

Hosted by Latinos Unidos Oregon, this two-day gathering brought together providers, leaders, and advocates from across the state and nation to strengthen culturally and linguistically specific behavioral health services.

From powerful keynotes and a traditional spiritual opening, to workshops on healing, self-care, and holistic health, the conference uplifted Latino voices and reinforced the importance of unity and advocacy.

“Unity strengthens us.” – Latinos Unidos Oregon
