Did you know?…

1) We offer sliding scale pricing for acupuncture follow-ups! We provide guidelines to help you choose the amount that works for you and sustains our business.

2) A sliding scale may seem like a radical idea, but it’s been working for us since we first opened back in 2008! In 2008, our original pricing was $20-40 for follow-ups and $35-55 for first visits. We haven’t raised prices too much since opening 18 years ago, because we are committed to keeping acupuncture affordable and because offering a sliding scale and acupuncture in a cozy community setting works.

3) $33-63 is close to the amount of an insurance copay for many plans that cover acupuncture… but also, many plans don’t cover acupuncture. We can’t bill insurance because we offer sliding scale pricing, so if your plan covers acupuncture and you want to come see us, we can provide you with a receipt to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

4) You can choose to pay different amounts from visit to visit if you want/need to do so. We understand that people’s financial situations change. Choose an amount that works for you.

5) Your treatment will be the same regardless of how much you pay. We provide the same personal care to everyone and the same 45 minute sessions, so you can expect consistency each time you come in.

Acupuncture Together has operated as a community acupuncture clinic since day one when we opened in our former North Cambridge location in 2008. We moved to West Medford in the spring of 2021, and we remain dedicated to serving our community in the same way. Right now there are many cases of colds, flu, Covid and norovirus in our community. While we’d like to help you feel better, we have a strict sick policy and ask that you do not come in for acupuncture if you are ill. We do, however, have some highly effective Chinese herbal formulas in stock, so if you’re not feeling well and need help, let Justine know and she can provide you with the formula that’s right for you (Justine is licensed in Chinese herbal medicine in addition to acupuncture). You can always call or email for an herb recommendation if you’re unable to come by while Justine is working.
A helpful suggestion is to keep a bottle of Yin Chiao (Advanced Cold) on hand at home so you can go to it asap if you feel like you’re coming down with a cold/flu/Covid. You may also want a package of Curing Pills since they’re helpful not only for stomach viruses, but also for general digestive issues due to overconsumption of food and other acute digestive discomforts. You’re welcome to purchase these anytime we’re open. Stay healthy!

Let’s talk acupuncture and health insurance in Massachusetts. It turns out that our sliding scale pricing is comparable to most insurance copays for plans covering acupuncture. Lots of insurance plans do not cover acupuncture and, of those that do, most only cover a limited number of visits per year (typically 12). When you compare all the data you can see that what we offer is pretty amazing: acupuncture for everyone with no limits to the number of visits per year or deductibles to be met and a fairly priced sliding scale. We have always strived to make acupuncture affordable and accessible and will continue to do so in 2026.

Plan ahead! Normal hours Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday we will be closing 1 hour earlier than usual. We’re enjoying a couple days off and will be back on Saturday and Sunday. Happy Thanksgiving!
