Our culture often tells us that we need to “find our purpose,” achieve more, do more, and constantly perform in order for our lives to have meaning.
But in some cultures, the focus is much smaller and gentler.
Instead of finding your entire purpose, you are encouraged to find one small thing worth doing today—a micro-win. Maybe it is having a cup of coffee or tea at 7:00 a.m., sitting in the sunshine for five minutes, watering a plant, answering one email, or taking a short walk.
You are also encouraged to notice three things that made you feel alive today. They do not have to be big things. It might be the warmth of a mug in your hands, the sound of birds outside, a good song, a text from someone you love, or the feeling of clean sheets at the end of the day.
And finally, to ask yourself: how can I be helpful to one or two people in my circle today? A kind word, a quick check-in, holding the door, making dinner, sending encouragement—small things matter.
A meaningful life is not always built from huge moments. Often, it is built quietly, one small moment at a time. 🌿
