Body Right Studio -formerly Rawlins Rolfing

Body Right Studio -formerly Rawlins Rolfing Kyle's passion is to help people live better by realigning their body with gravity allowing them to hurt less and live more. Named after its founder, Dr. Ida P.

What is Rolfing Structural integration? Rolf, Rolfing Structural Integration is a form of bodywork that reorganizes the connective tissues, called fascia, that permeate the entire body. More than fifty years ago, Dr. Rolf recognized that the body is inherently a system of seamless networks of tissues rather than a collection of separate parts. These connective tissues surround, support and penetrate all of the muscles, bones, nerves and organs. Rolfing Structural Integration works on this web-like complex of connective tissues to release, realign and balance the whole body, thus potentially resolving discomfort, reducing compensations and alleviating pain. Rolfing SI aims to restore flexibility, revitalize your energy and leave you feeling more comfortable in your body. Essentially, the Rolfing process enables the body to regain the natural integrity of its form, thus enhancing postural efficiency and your freedom of movement.

Thank you for your support through the journey of growing Body Right Studio! Over the last nine years, the cost of operating Body Right Studio has grown each year, but I have been able to keep prices steady. After careful consideration, starting July 1, 2022, I will be raising the price per 90-minute session to $140. There will continue to be a 15% discount for first responders and veterans. As well as a 20% prepayment discount on a series of 10-sessions. And as always, a free 30-minute consultation is available to new clients.

Looking forward to opening for appointments once again!

STRUCTURAL INTEGRATION
Gravity, an Unexplored Factor in a More Human use of Human Beings
Ida P. Rolf. Ph.D.

“Since it seems demonstrable that man's outer world is a projection of that which is within, is it not possible that some of the problems of our times might be resolved by examining the man himself, his physical being, his body. Could it be logical to suppose that if a way were found to organise better the actual physical structures of men, their other confusions, mental and cultural might lessen.”

To correct internal misalignments, a Rolfer™ uses mild, direct pressure to melt or release fascial holdings and allow the body to find health through the re-establishment of balance. It is currently believed that the slow, deep strokes of Rolfing® SI stimulate intra-fascial mechanoreceptors (sensory neurons of the muscle nerve), which in turn trigger the nervous system to reduce the tension of the related muscles and fascia.

Today, Rolfing is often seen as what we in the industry call “fix-it” work. Meaning you have a problem and you come to Rolfing to fix it. Makes sense, and Rolfing can be quite good for that. However, there’s another side to it as well: the transformative side. That is to say, using the Rolfing method as a way to transform yourself.

Intrigued by Rolfing but unsure of just what it is? This is a great introduction article with information and experience details after her first session*.

"That night and the next few days I observe how my body is feeling post Rolfing. I feel balanced, stable, and grounded, and I’m turning my head with greater ease. There’s a wee bit of tenderness across my chest where fascia was released but it actually feels good, like I’ve had a good workout. The mental effects are more unexpected. I feel eerily calm and peaceful, like my mind has slowed down and I’m very sure of myself. Very odd indeed, but definitely no complaints! My Rolfing experience has been completely positive after only one session, and I am very eager and intrigued to see what my body feels like after the full 10 Series."

* note, her session was with a Rolfer in Southern California, not with Kyle. Though you can expect a very similar session with him.

So, just what is the difference between deep-tissue Massage, Chiropractic, and Rolfing®? Rolfers work on what's causing the tension to be there in the first place. Rolfing works on the connective tissue (called the fascia) which surrounds all of your muscles, organs, and joints, and creates the overall structure in your body. This changes the alignment of the bones and the function of the nervous system to improve overall health.

So, just what is the difference between deep-tissue Massage, Chiropractic and Rolfing®? Massage, Rolfing and Chiropractic hold many similarities: they may all lead to reduced pain, relaxation and a sense of ease in the body, and they are all applied in similar fashions - through hands-on, direct t
