Happy 🩻 It has been a minute, but we're back with a good old-fashioned x-ray. This one here is checking on a knee replacement. I'm sure there's some of you out there who probably have something similar going on, but it's nice to see beneath the surface every so often 🦵 This one looks beautiful, with a nice patella gap, so no bone is rubbing on bone, which is a painful position to be in 🦴

Did You Know? We do Immigration Physicals at Valley Immediate Care! 🌎

Some of you may not know that Valley Immediate Care offers Immigration Physicals — and honestly, it’s pretty cool! These exams are a vital part of the immigration process for individuals seeking permanent residency in the United States. The goal is to ensure applicants don’t pose a public health risk and meet all medical requirements set by the U.S. government.

During the exam, we screen for certain communicable diseases, verify that all required vaccinations have been completed, and check for any physical or mental health conditions that could lead to harmful behavior or substance abuse. The examination is conducted by a USCIS-authorized civil surgeon, Dr. Miller, who completes the official medical forms for submission to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

Immigration Physicals are among the most detailed and complex physicals we perform here at Occupational Health. It takes coordination, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of the requirements — Perla currently handles the majority of all Immigration Physicals like a pro every time. The documents are so detailed and of such a high level of importance we do a two step verification process which means a second set of trained eyes review the document before it is released to the patient. Once the Physical is complete Immigrants wait on average 6 months before the review process even starts with the governing agency.

It’s a great visual reminder of the impact our team has, not just locally, but for people beginning a brand-new chapter of their lives in the U.S. 🇺🇸
