If you have a child with a fear of vomit (emetophobia), this particular form of anxiety is very common and is most effectively treated through Exposure and Response Prevention (the same treatment used for OCD). Pediatric behavior specialist and Director of the Center for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (www.centerforcbt.net), Dr. Inna Leiter, will be doing a 1-hour workshop teaching parents highly effective strategies for improving their children's behavior.
Behaviors that will be addressed will include (but are not limited to) big tantrums, yelling, whining, interrupting, acting out for attention, and more. This workshop will give parents a taste for of some of the tools taught in PCIT (Parent-Child Interaction Therapy), which is the gold standard (i.e. most effective) treatment for behavior problems in little kids.
