Acne is the “bread and butter” of dermatology, right?! Yes!...Acne is one of the most common complaints dermatologists see (in both teenagers AND adults), but that doesn’t mean it’s a simple one-size-fits-all solution for everybody!
Thankfully there are a lot of tools we use to help our patients with acne. These include over-the-counter washes and creams, prescription creams, a number of different oral medications (pills), chemical peels, and lasers! If your skin is struggling, then talk to your board-certified dermatologist to see what treatment is best for you!
This patient used a combination of prescription creams, oral antibiotics, and a series of chemical peels to help, and she’s thrilled!
Most know by now that masks certainly don’t help with acne. It’s, of course, important to wear your masks, but be sure to avoid makeup under the mask, wash with gentle cleansers, hydrate your skin, and don’t pop or pick! 😉
