Rusty Truck Ranch The RTR is a 40 acre Ranch in Medical Lake, WA. Opening weekend is October 2nd and 3rd, 10-5pm. Open every weekend in October.

We strive to improve biodiversity on our Ranch, while supporting education and positive interaction between visitors and our animal residents. Rusty Truck Ranch is a 40 acre family farm located in Medical Lake Washington. We will be open to the public in the Fall of 2021 for our second annual pumpkin patch & petting zoo. We are conveniently located at the edge of downtown Medical Lake, off Highway 902, just East of Fox Hollow Ridge & Lakes Harvest Foods. We lovingly raise sheep, chickens, ducks, turkeys, horses, bees, kitties, pups, and we love adding new additions! We are excited to share our love of farm life with our local community, as well as some of the farm fresh products from our land and animals: honey, pumpkins, sheep’s milk soap and more! We have made some new additions to this years list of Pumpkin Patch activities including: a hiking trail, a corn bin to play in for the kiddos, petting/feeding zoo, private fire pits, and mini photo sessions with Mountain Inspired Photography! We look forward to adding more family friendly events in the future, and hope to see you at the Pumpkin Patch!

A little Easter surprise! 🐰

A kindle (litter) of holland Lops! Oldest went outside last night to care for her bunnies and was shocked to hear a tiny squeak from the next pen!

These were born to our bunny Peach 🍑, and she actually delivered two fully developed bunnies about 2 weeks ago without nesting so sadly they got too cold and died before we found them. 😔

The funny thing is that bunnies have a 30 day gestation period, so how did she deliver more already? Bunnies actually have two horns to their uterus, meaning they can carry babies on both sides. Peach got pregnant on both sides but at two different times (this is not very common)! Pretty cool tho!

Peach did not make a nest again, so it was lucky Maddie found them! We are going to try “shelving” our bunnies this time meaning we brought them inside and will bring them to Peach twice a day to feed them.

Keep your eyes peeled when you come visit the Ranch for Easter! 👀 🦆

We are going to play a game! We will hide these adorable duckling figurines around the farm, and the finder of each one gets a treat from our concession stand! There is a message on the bottom of each duck letting finders know what to do!

Whether you like ice cream or a cotton candy is up to you, but it a fun twist finding the golden pumpkin we did this Fall! 💛

💡We had a great idea come our way from a lovely supporter and I wanted to take a poll on what you want! 📈

Background- We stuff around 12k eggs per day when we are open for Easter (around 36k eggs for this event!) 🫠

🤔What if instead of stuffing each individual egg with a treat, kids could turned in their eggs for a goodie bag after their egg hunt?

👍🏼Pros:
It would create more even distribution of candy.
We could add more treats/prizes that don’t fit into age into treat bags. Stickers, candies, bubbles ect…
It would take out the guess work on how many eggs to hide for each egg hunt.

👎Cons?
Does that take away from the fun?
Is opening each individual egg the biggest part of the excitement?

We would likely still do a special “golden egg” or two in each hunt with a special prize.

Give us a 👍🏼/👎 depending on what you think?

Did you know that we do separate egg hunts for big kids and little kids at our Easter on the Ranch event?!

We also do an egg hunt every 30 minutes for big and little kids to make the egg hunts more manageable and keep crowds smaller.

We stuffed about 12,000 eggs per day last year for our egg hunts 😮‍💨 and we may have to do more this year!
