Collier Stewart Miller
Mr. Collier Stewart Miller, age 71, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at his home. He was born on April 16, 1954, in Humboldt, Tennessee, to the late Thomas "Tom" Stewart Miller, Sr. and Martha Jackson Miller.
Following his graduation from high school, Collier earned a degree in Police Science and began his career in law enforcement with the Humboldt Police Department, serving the community where he was raised. He later joined the Metro Nashville-Davidson County Police Department, where he served with distinction as a Motor officer in the Motor Squad and was subsequently promoted to detective. He retired after a long and honorable career marked by integrity, courage, and an unwavering commitment to protecting and serving others.
Beyond his professional life, Collier was an Eagle Scout whose character reflected lifelong values of service, loyalty, and kindness. He was known for his quick wit, unforgettable stories, and the steady, reassuring presence he offered to family and friends. He especially enjoyed quiet time spent watching classic old westerns, a simple pleasure that brought him comfort and reflected his appreciation for storytelling, tradition, and timeless values. Above all, he was a devoted friend, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and uncle who cherished time with those he loved and leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength.
In addition to his parents, Collier was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirlee Harvey Miller.
He is survived by his children, Paul Bishop and his wife Molly, and Kari Goodwin and her husband Josh; his siblings, Chip Miller and his wife Sherry, and Melissa Colvin and her husband Tommy; his cherished grandchildren, Justice Bishop, Alana Bishop, and Maximus Goodwin; and his nieces and nephews, Candy Colvin, Cody Colvin, and Bambi Miller, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
