After the death of Mr. Menton, Mrs. Vada continued to operate the funeral home until her death, at which time Mr. James M. "Jimmy" Lawrence became the owner. Collier Stewart Miller

Mr. Collier Stewart Miller, age 71, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at his home. He was born on April 16, 1954, in Humboldt, Tennessee, to the late Thomas "Tom" Stewart Miller, Sr. and Martha Jackson Miller.

Following his graduation from high school, Collier earned a degree in Police Science and began his career in law enforcement with the Humboldt Police Department, serving the community where he was raised. He later joined the Metro Nashville-Davidson County Police Department, where he served with distinction as a Motor officer in the Motor Squad and was subsequently promoted to detective. He retired after a long and honorable career marked by integrity, courage, and an unwavering commitment to protecting and serving others.

Beyond his professional life, Collier was an Eagle Scout whose character reflected lifelong values of service, loyalty, and kindness. He was known for his quick wit, unforgettable stories, and the steady, reassuring presence he offered to family and friends. He especially enjoyed quiet time spent watching classic old westerns, a simple pleasure that brought him comfort and reflected his appreciation for storytelling, tradition, and timeless values. Above all, he was a devoted friend, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and uncle who cherished time with those he loved and leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength.

In addition to his parents, Collier was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirlee Harvey Miller.

He is survived by his children, Paul Bishop and his wife Molly, and Kari Goodwin and her husband Josh; his siblings, Chip Miller and his wife Sherry, and Melissa Colvin and her husband Tommy; his cherished grandchildren, Justice Bishop, Alana Bishop, and Maximus Goodwin; and his nieces and nephews, Candy Colvin, Cody Colvin, and Bambi Miller, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Collier's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Private family services for Collier will be held at a later date.

Funeral services for Ms. Melissa Smith will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2026, in the chapel of Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Ms. Smith, 56, passed away Monday, February 2, 2026.

She was born in Humboldt, TN to the late Donald Howard Smith, Sr. and Linda (Ringer) Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Don Smith, Jr.

She is survived by her boyfriend, Marshall Buchanan; brother, Paul Smith; step-mother, Ruby Smith; step-brother, Grant Creel; best friend/cousin, Jason Macon; nieces, nephews, and many cousins.

Funeral services for Mr. Alvis Neal Jones will be held 11 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2026, in the chapel of Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Hammonds officiating. Visitation will be held prior from 10 a.m. until service time. Entombment will be held privately at Highland Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Jones, 83, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026, at American House-Bartlett in Bartlett, TN.

He was born in Spokane, WA to the late Aubrey Neal Jones and Euleen Elizabeth (Stratton) Jones. Neal was raised in Jackson, TN and was a graduate of Jackson High School and Union University where he earned his Masters Degree. Neal spent many years in education and retired from Humboldt City Schools where he served as a principal.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Elaine Pinagel.

He is survived by his children, Andrew Alvis Jones and Tricia Maeleen Jones; sister, Virginia Luweida Hammonds and husband Ronnie; and his nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Union University in Jackson, TN.

Memorial services for Ms. Vonice Black will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, February 7, 2026 in Oak Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Richard Bray officiating. Visitation with the family will take place prior from 1 P.M. till service time. A private family burial will be held at the church cemetery.

Ms. Black, age 77, went to her heavenly reward after a brief illness on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Jackson Madison County Hospital.

She was born in Albany, GA to the late Frank and Isabell Harris Drawdy. She graduated from Albany High School “Class of 1966”. Vonice married the love of her life, David Black and they spent 56 years together before his passing just this last June. They were both long time members of Oak Grove Baptist Church

“Von” as she was affectionately know to many, worked as a seamstress for about 15 years; but she also enjoyed sewing for family and friends. After that she worked at Union University for around 10 years. When she could, you would often see her out in the yard tending her flower beds and garden. A volunteer at heart, Vonice helped serve others wherever she could and was always willing to do anything for anybody. She will be truly missed.

In addition to her parents and husband, Vonice was preceded in death by her sister, Glenda Drawdy; brothers, Frank Drawdy, Jr., and Roger Drawdy.

Vonice is survived by her daughters, Dana Simmons and Dee (Daryl) Jones; sisters, Alnita Bridges and Diane (Kent) Hudson; grandchildren, Drew Jones and Abbey Jones; special sister in laws, Shelby Fee and Shirley (Phillip) Senn; several nieces and nephews.

James Aaron Caraway, Jr.

James Aaron (Jim) Caraway Jr., passed peacefully from this life on January 27, 2026 at Dogwood Pointe Senior Living in Milan, Tennessee. He was born in Humboldt, Gibson County, Tennessee to Margaret Perry and James Aaron Caraway, Sr. He attended Humboldt City Schools and was a member of Gibson Baptist Church, Gibson, Tennessee. He proudly served the town of Gibson as an alderman.

Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Forbes Air Force Base in Topeka, Kansas. He was deployed and served three tours of duty in Vietnam as Staff Sergeant.

After returning home, he began his career with the Tennessee Highway Patrol. During his tenure, Jim was selected to serve as special detail for the governor at the governors request. He retired as Lieutenant after 43 years of dedicated service to the state of Tennessee.

Those who have passed before, other than his parents, are his brother Gary R. Caraway, Sr (Rosemary), sisters Lynn Caraway Nance (David) and Cindy Caraway Morgan (Ken). Those surviving include his wife of 47 years Shirley Earle Caraway, children, Holly Hutchens (Mark), Marsha Horton and Glenn Hodges (Christy), grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

There will be a private graveside service at White Rose Cemetery, Gibson, Tennessee in the future.

Mr. Mike Lewis, 56, passed away Friday, January 23, 2026, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was born on February 6, 1969, at Fort Campbell, KY, to the late Charles Lewis, Sr. and Jeanette (Poteet) Lewis.

Mike was currently working as Director of Operations for Delta Security. He spent many years working in law enforcement in West Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Charles “Bubba” Lewis, Jr.

Mike is survived by his wife, Leigh Ann (Stewart) Lewis; children, Kayla Hardin and husband Mason, Abby King and husband Carson; brother, Landie Lewis and wife Elizabeth Ortiz-Lewis; grandchildren, Braylee Hardin, Haislee Hardin, Annalyse King; longtime friend, supporter, and boss, Clint Warrington.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher Kelly Ward, 55, who passed away on January 21, 2026, in Panama City, FL, while on business. Chris was born on November 23, 1970, in Humboldt, TN, and was a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Chris was a dedicated Field Operations Manager for Tull Brothers, where he made many lasting friendships. He approached life with a hardworking spirit and a kind heart, always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh.

He is survived by his parents, Roy and Judy (Lowrance) Ward; brother, Brandon Ward and wife Christy; partner-in-life, Teresa Mathis and her children, ReAnna Harrison and Josh Kwasigroh; their children, Rance, Emmy, and Jude, who lovingly called him Papa Chris; niece, Baylie Jenkins and husband Conner; nephews, Logan and Landon Ward; great-nephew, Waylon Jenkins.
