✨ Happy Holidays from We Can Ride ✨

As the year comes to a close, we want to pause and say thank you to our incredible community — our participants, families, volunteers, staff, and, of course, our amazing horses.

This season reminds us of the healing power of connection: the quiet moments in the barn, the trust built between horse and human, and the courage shown every day by those who ride, learn, and grow with us. Each step forward, no matter how small, is something to celebrate.

We hope your holidays are filled with peace, warmth, and time to rest and reflect. We look forward to welcoming the new year together, continuing our mission of empowerment, healing, and possibility.

🐴💛 From all of us at We Can Ride — happy holidays and heartfelt thanks.

We are incredibly grateful to Lunds & Byerlys for their generosity and commitment to our community. 💚

“Every day we are humbled to be part of the Twin Cities community. We know that it requires resources of all manner to create the quality of life that exists here.”

Thank you to Frank Butkowski, Store Manager, and Russell T. Lund, III, President and CEO, for your leadership, kindness, and thoughtful holiday support. We are truly appreciative of the Lunds & Byerlys team and their continued investment in our community.

When Lisette started riding at age two, it was yet to be discovered where her journey would take her. But each session - with a steady horse and a supportive team - helped her believe in her own strength.

Your generosity empowers moments like this. It doesn’t just support therapy. It builds self-confidence, one ride at a time.

We are at 70% of our year end goal! A donation of any amount gets us closer to 100%.

🐎 National Day of the Horse 🐎

For thousands of years, horses have carried us forward.
They charged into battle beside soldiers, helped build nations through farming and industry, and stood as loyal partners through every chapter of human history.

Today, their role has evolved—but their impact is just as powerful.

At We Can Ride, horses continue to change lives. Through patience, strength, and an incredible ability to connect, they help individuals build confidence, find independence, and discover joy they may not have thought possible. No longer defined by war or work, these horses now serve as partners in healing and growth.

On this National Day of the Horse, we honor their legacy—and celebrate the way they continue to move us forward, one ride, one connection, and one life at a time. 💙

Thanks, Dover!

“As a volunteer during lessons I have witnessed kids and parents being lifted up and transformed by our generous herd of sensitive horses. I cannot fully express my gratitude for all the joy We Can Ride brought to clients and to me personally.”

Sheila gives because she believes in what horses can do. Her generous donations have funded therapy sessions, horse care, and rider scholarships.

Your giving doesn’t just go toward a program. It creates moments of courage, calm, and connection for those who need it most.

Make your impact today - and be part of the herd! HTTPS://p2p.onecause.com/wcr25

Brrrrrr! It might have been a little cold this weekend, but the only thing "Chilly" in our indoor arena was therapy pony Chilly and his partner in "crime", Theo!

Theo was so proud to show his riding skills to his grandpa on Saturday. Chilly, Theo and We Can Ride have something in common...we are all small but mighty!

Do you want your year-end dollars to have a huge impact on riders like Theo? We are currently at 62% of our year-end fundraising goal, and we have THREE WEEKS to get all the way there. Will you help? Link in comments!👇👇

Horses Helping People

Established in 1982, We Can Ride improves the lives of individuals with special needs or disabilities through equine assisted activities and therapy. Every year, over 275 individuals come to us for the physical, mental and emotional benefits of our programs. Anyone with a diagnosis aged two and up is eligible for our work.
