We’re proud to highlight two incredible members of our team, Michelle and Liz, who will be presenting at an upcoming conference on a topic that’s at the heart of what we do at We Can Ride. 🐴💙

Their session, “Utilizing Tracking Systems to Establish and Maintain Sustainable Equine Working Conditions,” focuses on an innovative approach to supporting the well-being of our equine partners in Equine-Assisted Services (EAS).

By combining participant criteria with detailed horse data, this tracking system helps determine sustainable workloads for each horse. It evaluates how often a horse participates in sessions and the level of stress each activity may place on them, using tools like the JIM Stressor Score Scale and a Well-Being Score System. This thoughtful approach helps ensure every horse’s workload remains balanced, while also guiding decisions about horse retirement, onboarding new horses, and matching horses with clients.

Michelle and Liz are passionate about creating environments where both horses and humans can thrive, and we’re excited to see them share their knowledge with the broader EAS community.

🐴✨ Wellness Day ✨🐴

Today, our amazing therapy horses enjoyed a session of equine acupuncture — a gentle, holistic treatment that supports both body and mind. 💚

For aging horses especially, acupuncture can be incredibly beneficial. It helps:
🌿 Reduce arthritis and joint pain
🌿 Improve mobility and flexibility
🌿 Support circulation and digestion
🌿 Ease muscle tension and stiffness
🌿 Promote relaxation and overall comfort

As our therapy horses give so much of themselves to support others, it’s important we give that same care back to them. Acupuncture helps keep our senior partners feeling their best, so they can continue doing what they love — connecting, healing, and teaching us every day. 🐎💫

Who's feeling a little spring-ish? This year you will again be able to order all of your favorite plants, pots, and baskets and benefit We Can Ride!

Visit our online storefront at www.gertensfundraising.com and enter code 750. Orders must be completed by 10 PM on Monday, March 30.

NO LATE ORDERS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Your order will be ready for pick up on May 3 from 12-4 PM and May 4 from 12-4 PM at 4301 County Road 24, Maple Plain, MN 55359.

Horses Helping People

Established in 1982, We Can Ride improves the lives of individuals with special needs or disabilities through equine assisted activities and therapy. Every year, over 275 individuals come to us for the physical, mental and emotional benefits of our programs. Anyone with a diagnosis aged two and up is eligible for our work.
